hello all
this is me after 5 weeks, i know my hair growing journey is in its embryonic phase but i am still proud of leaving it this long!
Have any of you guys grown your hair from shaved?
I figured regular updates will keep me on track for the long haul!
Scott
dont grow up...grow down instead
Scott, you and i did the same thing, i started from a shaved head to in august it will be 28 months without a haircut.its well beyond the shoulders and really i would consider it mid back length.the best thing is to take the advice of some of the veteran people on this board for the regimes and products to keep your hair in top condition for the long haul. here is number one.
DON'T CUT YOUR HAIR AT ALL. use the 2 week rule, that's what i call it. when you having a bad hair day and you will have many in the future. wait 2 weeks and then if you still want to cut it, well do what you want. good luck James/Tampa,Fl
Scott,
I didn't start from a shaved head "this time around," but one of my previous attempts at longhairdom did begin at a bare scalp. I'll do a bit of digging and see if I can find some of those old progress photos.
Your hair seems to be growing out at a good pace... Stick with it, and you'll be there in no time!

Here ya go, my friend... from Shrek-bald to 5 months of growth. These photos were taken during a past attempt at growing my hair long, and should give you some idea of how quickly it can grow. At 5 weeks from bald, your hair appears to be growing at about the same rate as mine, if not a bit faster.
For those who are curious, I currently AM regrowing my hair long, although I didn't document my progress with photographs this time around, nor did I start from bald. If I had started from bald, though, I would estimate that my current hair length is representative of about 9 months from bald.

Hey Scott,
I think that you are proud of your decision to grow your hair long. You are truly a born longhair.
When you broke your razor you broke with the no hair Scott.
For five (5) weeks from a bald head you are making olympic strides. It looks like you have about one half (1/2) in of growth already! Keep it growing. Think about how it is going to feel when your hair begins to touch your shoulders, your back, and your chest. Please keep us posted on your progress. I, for one am inspired by your progress. I need to see your and our other brothers' progress in growing out their hair.
Do you intend to let your beard just grow out to terminal length also?
Don't grow up, grow down!
Raymond
Hey Raymond
thanks for your support dude!....feels like i am finally doing what i want to do...oddly liberating and definately the right thing for me.
I am clipping my goatee at the moment but may adopt an all over medium length beard in the future...but going to let hair grow to terminal....let it grow and let it flow!
Must say your recent update pic was an inspiration for me too...so thanks for that.
Dont grow up..grow down instead!
Scott
Hey Scott,
You're welcome! You've got my constant support to grow out your hair to terminal length. If you ever feel like you might want to flirt with the idea of cutting (aka: mutilating) your hair again just jump on this hyperboard. I will do likwise.
You said that youwere doing something that you always wanted to do. I can definitely relate. I always wanted to let my hair just grow but boys don't have long hair, right? Only girls had long hair, right? Scott, you and I are born longhairs; it's just part of who we are. To cut our hair is to deny a part of ourselves. Let others express themselves as they choose but we must claim that right for ourselves when it comes to our hair.
Your brother longhair,
Raymond
Hey Scott,
Coming along really well, keep the faith bro :)
cheers Dave
Hey Scott,
I grew my hair from a #1 buzz (which was my regular 2 weekly cut). It's funny, when you are used to having it cut so often it feels unnatural to not have it cut. As weird as it is to break the habbit you will get used to it.
Cheers,
Neil.
Scott, you are making great progress!! Keep at it!! :)
