I've lately received a few inquiries as to the present length of my hair, and have decided to once again begin keeping a photo record of my progress. My last attempt at regrowing my hair ended at the 8-month mark (just before graduating from nursing school in the spring of 2010). I kept it short while seeking employment and throughout the first several months of working at my new job (by my own choice), and received my last haircut in February of 2011. Based on measurements I've taken in the past, I estimate that my current hair length represents approximately 9 to 10 months' worth of growth, had it started from a bare scalp. The above picture was taken about 3 weeks ago, and will be regarded as my "9-month" progress photo.
Here's another shot taken 3 weeks ago (about 9 months of growth from a bare scalp), with wet hair, illustrating more of its true length. My hair is actually quite wavy, and develops more curls and flips as it grows longer. At present, the hair of my center bangs/fringe reaches to the tip of my nose when pulled straight.

Hey Val your hair texture resembles mine...At around your length my hair started to get wavy and has continued to do so as it keeps growing.
Hi Val, that's fantastic progress and the next 6 months should see a further transformation. You're well on the road my friend. Ian
Great progress - good luck with your journey.
Hi Val,
Looking great so far and keep it growing and look forward to your future updates :-)
Cheers,

Hi Val,
That is great to hear about your new job and I suppose in your situation playing it safe by keeping your hair short might have helped your chances in getting it.I would like to think ,in a perfect world,it would not have been an issue had it been long.I envy the fact that any female could seek employment and their hair length would be a non issue in the eyes of an employer. That goes to show we still have much work to be done having men with long locks accepted but I do feel we are making progress.I'm thankful to have been living my entire adult life with long hair and plan to end my days on this planet that way.I've never, ever wavered in my desire to be a longhair not even for a minute.
Your hair is looking fantastic even at its longish length right now.I have to admit it would be cool seeing you with waist length hair:)Not sure what you are aiming for but I think a length like that would look great on you my friend.Anyway thanks for your update and don't stop now!LOL.Cheers

Hey Val,
It's great to see these progress photos! It's wonderful that your life situation has stabilized to the point where you can resume your journey to being a longhair....and what a head of hair to work with! Its thickness and health will produce an incredible final result and epic stages in reaching it. I look forward to following your progress every step of the way!!
Best,
Jason
Hey Validus,
Awesome Hair!
Great progress for nine (9) months. Keep going. Your hair growth is an inspiration to me. I hope that you keep growing your hair to terminal length.

Hi Validus,
Hurray and a big cheer to you in your new hair growing journey, and it is awesome that you should be able to grow it a lot longer from now and onwards. You really do have an excellent head of hair to work with, so growing it a lot longer should be easy, and I look forward to your future updates!
Keep it growing,
David
your estimations are pretty accurate, I am about to enter my 9 month in august and it is about the same length as mine. Your hair looks good and will look better long, dont give in this time around.
Hey Validus
That is looking just so fabulous and goes with the beard 100% great! So glad you shared this update. It looks almost like at the moment you and are about even in terms of length.
You can just check the beginning to see, no bother to watch it all.
Keep it growing and may you this time grow it as long as mine once was. My best to you and your entire family.

You've got such nice hair. I always thought so. It's so thick, with such a good saturation of natural color. I'm sure it'll be beyond criticism, since you're so healthy and full of vitality. I have to find time to answer your book questionaire very soon too.
Figures you'd be a nurse. You're what I think of as a natural healer. It's just naturally what you are, I mean.
Hello Validus,
Your hair is looking top mate. One thing that I like about your hair is that it is in what the people on the board would probably call "the awkward stage". Your hair on the other hand looks awesome.
Take care,
Neil.
I was wondering how long your hair was now. Good to see an update. Hopefully with employment you'll be able to keep your hair longer. I know it's really hard to look neat and presentable while still in the awkward face, so I understand why you'd want to keep it shorter for the time being.
Hello Validus: you have beautiful hair for me it is at a perfect length. It frames your handsome face nicely. AS a nurse beingneat is very important, but you have to be comfortable with yourself if you want longer hair by all means if possible grow it longer. I work in the health care field the supply side of it.

Dang, boy!! Smart and good looking ~ your wife is one lucky gal!! :)
