While searching the internet for long hair pictures I came across this one, it reminded me of you because if I recall correctly your a priest rite?...well just wanted to share, maybe some inspiration for you and other members currently growing out your hair.
That picture rocks!
I have to second what Jason said about this pic.It does ROCK!Something for Raymond to shoot for:)

I'm pretty sure he's Orthodox. The hanging lamp & icon pictures in the background help to give it away. The video link of different religions that have long hair a few posts down explains it. Orthodox is one of them. I think Raymond is Catholic, but I'm not sure, and that doesn't mean I'm saying you shouldn't have posted this.
And this young priest guy looks like he has way too much vitality to be celibate!! Thanks for sharing. I saved the picture, and shared your post with two friends, both who were Catholic.
I think we should find this dude and party with him a little. Lol.
HAHAHA! You bring the wine, I'll bring the unleavened bread!!
PRETTY MUCH!!!!!! LOLOL!!!!! I don't know. I could see him sitting around with a little pipe sometimes! You're funny & nice Laura. I like your straightforward approach.
Hey Guys,
We should make it a point to get together. Whenever you find yourself traveling make it a point to mention it on the hyperboard so that if a member is in the area and it is possible we should try to meet each other face to face.
Raymond
Very good idea. I love that.
Im not sure, but this apears to be of a man of eastern orthodox church. James/Tampa,Fl
Hey Alex,
Thanks for the pic. The man in the pic does indeed appear to be an Orthodox priest. Orthodox priests can be married provided that they are married before ordination. I am a Roman Catholic priest and I'm happily celibate.
As for this priest's hair, I think that it is magnificent! I hope to grow my hair as long as his, or longer. I have been taking biotin these past four (4) of five (5) days and I think that it has had some effect on my hair. I'll let you guys be the judges the next time I post a update.
Thanks again for the pic. I really like it.

That is a fantastic picture! Jesus had long hair, so why shouldn't his followers have the choice to grow theirs long as well? :)
If there was an historical Jesus, he almost certainly did not have long hair, nor the fair skin and blue eyes that accompany it in most depictions of European origin. Click the link below to see what modern forensic scientists think he would have looked like...
Thank you Duncan. :) Why is Jesus usually portrayed as such (caucasion with long brown hair)?
Sorry, wrong name. Thank you Val. :)
"Why is Jesus usually portrayed as such (caucasion with long brown hair)?"
It suited the purposes of the European theocracy of the Middle Ages. Converting the polytheistic European peoples to the worship of a single, little-known desert god was difficult enough, so in addition to christianizing many of the ancient pagan holidays, the church also created an image of Jesus that appeared like an idealized version of a European man.
Very well put val, I think it was basically a racist policy to portray Jesus as a Nordic looking person. James/Tampa,fl
I wouldn't necessarily call it deliberately racist, rather more of "playing to your audience". There is a definite tendency in medieval artwork to portray the subject in the styles of the artist's time instead of as it would have actually appeared. There are numerous paintings of events from the biblical period where the people shown are wearing medieval/renaissance clothing, for example.

If jesus did have long hair it was probably dreadlocks, in the bible it says he had hair like sheep wool. Idk if you ever seen sheep wool but it is very kinky(google it). I doubt people combed on a daily basis back then, which would result it most people having dreadlocks(even straight hair will dread up).
Hey alex,
I think that Jesuswould not have cut his hair. "'He shall be called a Nazorean'". (Matthew 2:23b). This refers to the town in which Jesus grew up. There is also the Nazorite vow. This is a special consecration to God whereby the person would not cut his hair.
I'm familiar with sheep wool. When a lamb is born its wool is soft and white. Soon it becomes matted, dirty and smelly because of water and dirt and other items.
"The hair of his head was white as white wool or as snow," (Revelation 1:14a) This is how St. John saw Jesus in glory among the seven lampstands.
It is great to think that Jesus, in glory has a full head of white hair.

Thanks for the correction on the verse, I wasn't sure what the exact words were. I still think he had long hair at least once. I mean he was Jesus,im sure he didn't worry about his appearance and he traveled alot so at some point or most of his traveling he didn't cut his hair. Id like to hear your opinion since your more knowledgeable on jesus
whoops read your post way to fast and didnt notice the "not" next to "cut his hair". just ignore the post i just made. or you can add more about jesus and long hair lol
Google 'sheep wool' or Google 'kinky'?!?!?!?!
HAHAHAHAHA Sorry, couldn't resist that joke!
Whatever floats your boat!, you can search up both or which ever sounds interesting! hahah
Hey alex,
I like your sense of humor, bro.
