DO many guys wear their hair in pigtails?

  I am a major fan of pigtails -- not the Willy Nelson wear-em-low-and-braid-em type -- but the high and loose "spaniel ear" type. I often put my hair in pigtails around the house. I never wear them in public, though, and do not know of any photos on the web of men with pigtails.

        Pigtails are a sexy thing on women, why should men not wear them, i see no reason.
        When i had long hair i used to wear them, as well as two fish plaits.

        What is a fish plait?
        A fish plait, otherwise known as a French plait, is where the hair(usually) is plaited ( or what you call braided) from the top of the head to the bottom, against the side of the head. Not like a ponytail which has been braided.

        Do I understand you to mean it is like a French braid but on the side? There is also something called a herringbone plait/braid or fishbone braid. With this kind of braid, rather than taking exactly 1/3 of the hair and crossing it over, you take less than a third, creating a sort of herringbone effect. I assume you refer to something different.

        I have heard it called a fish bone plait before, it could be what you mean. Another way of explain ing it is that you start with three section of hair, start to plait down and as you go take more peices of hair with each cross over. I did this with one on each side of my head.

      Tim, I think what TC is referring to is the type of ponytail you wear by parting your hair all the way down the middle ,then making two ponytails, one on each side of your head, behind you ears.I can't blame anyone for not wearing their hair like this in public.......lol, but the loose version of this style is kinda cute.

        I've noticed this style become suddenly very popular among girls locally. Is that a national trend?

        Somewhat yeah. I've seen a few guys wearing them. It's more popular among young clubber types. As well as a similar style that has buns made out of the pigtails (looks kinda like mickey mouse). I've only seen one guy wear his hair in MM-ear-buns... he works in my office and is a total cutie!

        That is sort of what I meant, only I don't have bangs, so I part my hair right down the middle, like Tamara said, and pull it into the two high ponytails on either side.

    I too like to wear Pigtails behind and above both ears. I generally
    have no problem wearing them in some public places. My hair is a
    little over 12" and close to terminal length since it does not
    seem to grow any longer.
