That a lot more guys in the musical groups are wearing longer hair now?
maybe it's just me, but I have noticed less crew-cuts on musicians and more long hair!!
about time I say!!
I have noted that as well, Hoping it was not just wishful thinking. Have also noticed more guys sporting longer locks on advertizements and commercials.
" about time I say!!"
Yes "about time"
It just seems that we have been going through one of the longest short hair trends in my life time.
To my count, it seemed to start very early 90's till now.
I know we have had long and short hair styles for men through history, but it seems around the start of the 90's we lost that back and forth of long hair is in, short hair is out, short is in long is out.
Don't forget TV's ER(1994)and how long the Caesar cut was around and all the other short cuts of the 90's to 2000's.
So yea, it is about time for a good long, mens long hair trend.
You're right. Long hair is definitely coming back, especially in metal. Their seems to be a trend of older groups, Metallica, Megadeth etc seem to be returning to their late 80's style and that is bringing interest from younger bands that are around. It's great to see.
Neil.
Not just Metal, my friend. Indie bands are starting to sport the look.

Yes I have noticed it too! I work in NYC and lately I've noticed more guys with longer hair and not just young kids, older guys too!
Great pic of the bass player in Spin magazine...Question-I'm really liking this side part and now that my hair is longer I would like to sport that look. However, my hair usually parts down the middle which I like too. But, at work my hair is usually in a bun or braid and I don't think the side part will look good in a tail, bun or braid...Any suggestions on this style? It seems to much maintenance if I need to untie my hair after work and part it down the side...I usually unbraid my hair as I'm walking to the subway because I am always having to be somewhere. Has anyone else had this conflict?
I'm not sure about a side part, but I've done a decidedly off-center part with my hair tailed without it looking too bad. I think if you dry your hair with the part where you want it, it will tend to return to the same place once you un-tail it. Best thing to do is just give it a shot and see what happens!

Thanks Kansas!
Any time you go against what your hair naturally wants to do, it is more maintenance, and sometimes looks good and sometimes doesn't. Like Dale said, the best thing to do is just give it a try ~ what's the worst that can happen? - you'll have a bad hair day or two?!?! But you might also find a style you really like. :) I also suggest trying gel or other products to help keep your hair parted where you want it, and definitely part it when it is wet and dry it that way.
thanks Laura- I tried the side part but it does go back to the middle especially if I pull it back with my hands it goes right to where it wants to go lol...It's fine I was just experimenting and it is too much maintenance- It's like when i brush it out straight-it reverts to waves after awhile...I just let it do what it wants-my hair is MOODY!
Yes, but what goes around comes around!
If they had crewcuts, then you were listening to the wrong music!
I better notify all my friends into Godsmack.
anyway
you might find this band interesting and they all have long hair.
