I was walking my dog last night when I stopped at a neighbor's house to say hello. Their adult daughter was visiting them and happened to come out the front door as I came up toward the house.
The last time she saw me, I was just sporting a short haircut, so now the mid-back look hits her right between the eyes! Her mouth dropped open and she looked like she'd just been punched in the gut. "Look at your hair!! You look like Willie Nelson!"
I grinned and agreed there had been a big change since we'd seen each other--also adding the fact that my wife and I were totally cool with it.
She looked at the length and ran her fingers through it saying, "OMG, I LIKE it!" Shocked out of her skull because of the change, but really positive over all.
Guess my point is, there are still some open-minded people out there. It felt good.
That's very encouraging to hear about that positive reaction to your hair.I bet she was shocked since she hasn't seen you in some time.When I hear things like you described it does give me hope that longhair on men is becoming more accepted and hopefully more so as the years go on.Cheers
