Hi everyone, I just want to say how grateful I am of all the support and advice I have gained from this magnificent board. I do not know where I would be without such a great collection of people to help me through my long hair journey.
Tomorrow marks 1 year and 6 months since my last haircut, and man, It's been the greatest roller coaster ride of my life. Leaving school last year, just going into my second year of college this month, and my hair has played a major part in finding my true self. Of course, like any other long hair on this board, occasional comments have been thrown, you know the usual stuff, but I laugh them off and go about continuing my personal goal. knowing I am far more of a freeman than those narrow minded haters could ever be.
So, tomorrow will be my 18th recorded update, I will post several pictures, various styles to commemorate a year and a half of my long hair journey. Again, I cannot describe what a fantastic community this is, and the support I have gained in the past and into the future is invaluable.
I apologize for the long message, my thoughts go out to those affected by the ongoing hurricane, stay safe everyone :)
Kind Regards, James
James, that is awesome that you managed to stay true to your long hair-it is a feeling of freedom that makes you the individual you want to be and at times you do become tempted to cut it off. However, the longer it gets the better you like it...When i look back I can't believe how long it took me to grow out my hair...For the most part, I do get the cool, artistic vibe feedback (Which is awesome-since I am kind of nerdy lol) Working in NYC definitely is a help with just being who you want to be...Now I can't wait until my hair hits waist-length...It seems forever lol.
Hi James K.,
It's good to hear feedback from users like yourself:)I have to admit looking back through all my years as a longhair my best support came from this very unique site.Thankfully I've kept my hair long all those years I didn't receive support because I knew in my heart of hearts that having my hair long was really me:)It all started in the 1980s and continued uninterrupted to this day.I really don't feel a haircut will ever be on my radar;)call me a longhair lifer!Cheers my friend.
