Hey guys! I noticed that every time that I wash, or put olive oil in my hair, it looks very thin, fine. It looks like a hundred strands turn into one. Yesterday I ponytailed it (weather is killng me here in Brazil), and it felt a lot thinner than usual. But, when I finger comb it, it gets back to normal. Never been a issue to me, but today it's really thin. It's possible, that after 17 years of life, and 2 of growth, I'm reaching terminal?
Hi AndyBeta,
I honestly wouldn't worry about thinning at this point, I am 18 in January and have very thick hair, but mine also seems so much thinner when wet, I think the same applies for you, hair just appears thinner when wet or oiled.
Kind Regards, James
Applying oil to your hair is simpler and more logical than often approached at first: the important part of your hair that needs the oil the most is your hair ENDS. What kind of beneficial oil you decide upon, and whether you prefer to oil it dry or when still damp after shampooing doesn't matter as much as massaging and finger-combing it into the lower half of your mane, even twisting and twirling to help better distribute that oil (to prevent clumping)...
I've been applying beneficial oil into my hair for years now; but always focussing on applying it to the lower portion of my mane (wherever I tend to get split ends, dry fly-aways, etc.). I've used Kukui nut oil, almond oil, jojoba oil, and even olive oil.... and they all do the job!! As long as you don't over-do it, for me they add body, moisture, better feel & control -- oiling even makes my hair feel like MORE HAIR at times... i swear by it!
