Here's some interesting news from Finland (link below)!
Finnish ombudsman says UPS grooming rule breaks law
Well that's great news as at least Finland gets it:)Shame on UPS and that dress code.Do they think people are going to be offended by longhaired UPS guys and run to FedEx?lol.Just another company living in the stone age.

As a matter of fact, yes. There is a segment of the population
who are so offended by long hair they'd jump at the option of
going with Fedex.
I've met a number of them over the years, and had some of them
as relatives.
That's a very weak excuse to jump ship which tells me they are looking for an excuse to switch shippers. If its isn't the good looking male longhaired drivers it would be some other lame reason. These are more than likely some angry old men.lol.
Our company ships alot of stuff and i'd point out that many companies who do shipping are looking for better shippers
that 1. charge less 2. don't loose/damage packages
and 3. get it there when it is promised.
UPS does a reasonable job but they still loose a good bit
of packages and have a good bit of damaged packages.
I'd also point out no matter what carrier you use they will always have packages that are damaged/lost/mis directed. It comes with volume of stuff UPS and fedex ship.
My gut tells me the hair thing is an excuse to avoid the
real issues, damaged packages, lost packages, mis directed
packages.
After all if you needed xx item today at noon you're going
to complain that it didn't arrive, The hair complaints are
a smokescreen for the lack of the item being delivered.
I kind of figured that it was just an issue of finding a scapegoat for internal problems within the company.Unless the drivers looked shabby and smelled the hairlength shouldn't even be on the radar. But what you say makes sense as UPS can't even get their own business straight so just pick on the employee.Yea,that's fair:(

One thing i would point out if you order from the internet often
you'll notice that internet retailers are often switching carriers
in search of shippers who will get the item delivered on time
for the least amount of money and the least amount of damage/loss
claims.
There is a segment of the population who are so offended by long hair they'd jump at the option of going with Fedex
isn't that sad? however there are always segments of populations who have ideas about everything, some not always good or equal but heyho that's humans for you - and also why 'equality' in law is supposed to be just that, equal
