At the end of this month it will be 18 months since my last haircut, and although the hair right on the back of my head seems to be done with the awkward stage, the rest of my hair still seems to be a long way off.
For the last few months my hair has been doing this strange thing where it lies flat against the top of my head, then curves upward before falling down the side (see picture) And I was wodering if anyone on here knows what could be causing this or what I might be able to do to stop it.
OR: is it just another part of the curly haired awkward stange?
jus keep it growin bro. i got curly hair too. my hair is just a mess, i feel like i been in an awkward stage forever. im at about 21 months from a #2 cut so im not too far ahead of ya. i like that other picture unreal posted, i dont have quite that much length yet tho.
as far as it sittin flat on top of the head like that, i dunno nothin bout it. dont know what else to tell ya but just keep growin.
ima let mine freeform dread up when it gets more length but then that just causes shrinkage lol.
I'd say that was just part of being naturally curly. My hair's only slightly wavy, but I had a similar thing going on until it grew longer. Now, the weight of the hair means it's pretty much flat on top and the waves only start to show lower down.
It seems like just a curly hair thing. I would say it's going to behave kind of crazy until you get some weight to it.
Enjoy!
