Well it's time to post the final results of my second full henna treatment since the first one last month. The cool thing about this is I can actually see how much my hair grew in five weeks time and there is no guessing.lol.Very obvious seeing the new untreated hair at my scalp.Likely now I'll start doing the full treatments further apart while doing partial treatments in between.I have a good base of henna on my length now so touch ups should work for awhile.Hopefully any of you considering trying henna will learn from my experiences.I found the more times I do these treatments the easier it is to apply since I've developed a system now.Hope everyone is having a nice weekend and keep those manes growing:)Cheers

Hi Mark,
Personally I think this second application looks fantastic, I think the colour looks great :) Seems slightly darker to me than last time, but I prefer it. Well done on the second treatment, have a great autumn my friend :)
Kind Regards, James
Hi James,as I thank you for your opinion.I was debating whether to just do a touch up at my scalp, for the new growth, or do the whole thing.I'm glad I went for the ladder:)My thinking now is I can do a touch up next time then see if it needs the full treatment after that.Next up is to redo my beard as the grays are showing!lol.Hope all is well my friend.Cheers
Mark
Mark, I think the second full application made the color deeper and looks better than the first application. I like this color on you best - not many people could pull that off, but you do it well! :) A suggestion: color your beard at the same time as your hair; that way you only have to mix up the henna one time, and your hair and beard color will be from the same "dye batch" (different batches can vary in color) and therefore should coordinate well.
And, as always, your big smile compliments your long hair perfectly! :)
Hi Laura,
Thank you for the compliments and your suggestions. This time around I had the time to leave the henna in longer, five hours, which might have made a difference as the last time it was in for only four hours. Also being it was re treatment I already had that base to work with.As for the beard I was planning on doing that again on Tuesday so it will be fairly close to this treatment.Mehandi, who I bought my henna from, told me I could freeze the leftover for future use so that is what I would be using on my beard.I may even have enough left over between the two full treatments to possibly do a third.Anyway I'm lovin'my henna:)Cheers

A true inspiration, thanks for the update

Hi Scott,
I appreciate your vote of confidence being it was a big step for me to take by giving up on my natural hair color.I find the change exciting and like it when people notice:)I hope my experience with henna helps other guys who may be considering it.Thanks for your reply my friend.Cheers
Mark
Great photo, Mark! Your second henna treatment certainly looks very good. No wonder you have such a smile on your face!

Hi Jason
Thanks for your reply to my henna update.Maybe henna has smile qualities as well but truthfully I have enjoyed the process and obviously the results:) This is probably the boldest move I have taken with my hair since my 1980s perm job!lol. However this makeover I like much better than that one:)Hope all is well with you my friend.Cheers
Mark
The color and texture suit you very well. Gives you ans 'Outdoorsy" aura that is quite attractive.
Thank you for your comments as I suppose my hair color does seem outdoorsy:)Never thought of it that way until you mentioned it.I'm really glad I did this for my hair:)Hope you had a great weekend my friend.Cheers
Mark
Hi Mark, It's looking really good, I think the colour is now looking much more "natural" and suits you well. I wasn't so sure at first, but now - yes, great! Ian
Thank you Ian for your comment.I have no regrets at all doing the treatment which is a good thing considering it would be hard to pull a reversal!lol. My hair seems to have been given a new lease on life:)Cheers my friend.

Your hair looks super, Mark. It looks even better than the first time.
Scott
Thanks Scott as I have never second guessed myself for a second after doing the first treatment.I thought the process was actually kind of fun even though its a pain to apply.I can understand a guy with hair as long as yours having misgivings about trying henna but I feel you would look "capital" with red hair Scott! You'll have the opportunity to see my hennaed hair first hand next Saturday!Prepare yourself;)lol.Cheers
Mark
I noticed your hair before you had your henna treatment. You had a black and white goatee. I noticed that since you have had your henna treatment that your goatee is also red. Obviously, you have applied the henna treatment to your goatee. I have tried "coloring" my beard when I had colored my hair and the color to my beard never took.
I was just wondering is there a trick to applying color to your beard/goatee.
I am a former long-hair, but re-growing my hair out, again!
Thanks.
Tom aka Latino
Hi Tom,
The thing was I did my first Henna treatment to my hair only and after looking at pictures I took of the results couldn't help but notice how out of place my beard looked.I seeked advice and was told to use "Just For Men" dye for my beard but then I figured why not use the same Henna in my beard as I just used on my hair.So that's what I did and it came out really nice. The trick is covering the Henna on your face for up to two hours and not having it dribble off.So to prevent that I applied cling wrap to cover that area and supported the wrap by using my ears to hold it.I know it may be hard to visualize that but it was just something I thought up but it worked. So pull off a long section of cling wrap, start from your chin, and bring the two ends up towards your ears and wrap it over the top for support.I also cut smaller pieces to cover my stash and clinged that to the main wrap supported over my ears.Anyway I hope that helps you as I think your goatee will color nicely with the Henna.Cheers

Henna 2 - the sequel. Looks great Mark! You've got your Autumn colors going.
- Oren
Ha Ha,hi Oren, yea I guess my hair will look nice with the fall foliage:)Thanks for the thumbs up on my henna update as I'm enjoying the "new and improved" me!Cheers my friend.
Mark
Wow Mark-
That looks really fabulous, and it makes your hair appear even more full them before and with a very soft look to it. I am glad that you had such results and now I am almost wondering about the allergic reaction I had with my beard and the product I was using for a number of years so that the beard would match my natural hair color. Is this Henna treatment safe for all, or are there warnings of possible allergic reactions? If it were safe to use, I would grow my beard back.
Again..........looks terrific! :-)
Justin~
Hi Justin,
I'm completely happy with the results of this second treatment and have no regrets.I was going to use regular dye on my beard but figured that why not use the henna instead as I had so much left over.I obviously mixed up more than I actually needed. You should give it a try on your beard, if you choose to regrow it.Henna is all natural so I don't think you'd get any bad reaction from using it.I thought henna also helped restore lost brain cells.LOL.I need as many as I can get;)Here is the web address where I bought my henna. You can call them for advice as you do get to speak with a live person:)

Hope you are doing well Justin as I do think of you often my friend:)Cheers
Mark
Looks great Mark! Henna works well for me too :)
Hi Mark,I honestly believe Henna the greatest thing since sliced bread!lol.Everyone I know that has used it seems to rave about Henna.Cheers my friend.
Mark
Hey Mark! I gotta agree with the others, this second application looks even better than the first. The color just looks richer and deeper. While red might not suit everybody, it sure looks right with your complexion. Thanks for the update!

Hi Dale,
Thank you for your input as it looks like treatment #2 was a smashing success!Thankfully the color does work for me otherwise I'd have to redo the treatment with a henna blend with some other natural dye.Hoping all is well with you Dale:)Cheers my friend.
Mark
Hi Mark,
This really does look good, and besides the very nice colour, it actually makes your hair look thicker as well. Congratulations on a job well done!
Cheers, and take care,
David
Hi David,
Thank you for the added support:)It looks like the vote tally is overwhelmingly "for" the Henna!I have to admit its been a fun ride doing this and I'll even enjoy my future re treatments as needed.Have a great day David.Cheers
Mark
Hey Mark,
Well, in a few days I'll get to see your hennaed hair IN-PERSON -- can't wait (LOL)!!!!
I'm going to dye my beard today with the "Just for Men" product; so together we will be a colorful combination!
Lookin' good, Mark! And really looking forward to your SF Bay Area visit!!
- Ken
Hi Ken,
Yes, I agree we will be quite the colorful pair!LOL.Actually tonight I'm doing a followup henna treatment to my own beard just so it stays in tune with my freshly rehennaed hair:)Unfortunately my beard needs more frequent followups than my hair especially when I trim it.
I too look forward to meeting you in the next week:)It will be a lot of fun as I'm looking forward to our day trip.See ya soon my friend.Cheers
Mark
Sorry to be so late to respond, the Henna puts my previous attemps at colouring to shame! Looks great,
