I have a question and seeking some advice.
My hair is 11 months growing and I'm getting past the awkward stage. I also can't really slick it back anymore, as it is getting pretty long, which is great!
What appears more professional in the workplace? Hair down or tied up on a semi-bun? All of my hair can't reach a pony tail or back bun, but I can definitely put gel to keep the front hairs down so they "appear" to be in the bun. Is this advisable? Is it more professional to have it tied back like that?
Thank you in advance. :)
I might be wrong, but I think a neat-looking ponytail is usually fairly well accepted these days. That's the way I feel the most comfortable wearing my hair in situations like that, at any rate.
Steve
Hi Shark. I agree with Steve that a Pony Tail is a practical solution when loose hair can be a problem - Windy days, health and safety at work etc., or alternative "look". It should, however, be your choice. In a formal or work situation, you should have the same rights as our female friends with long hair - if they are allowed to wear their hair loose, or in any style of their choice, then so should you! Good luck, Ian
Hello Shark,
It's a tricky one isn't it? I was still in school when my hair was that length so I never really got any grief from teachers about it. My preference would be to leave it hanging as it is, but if you need to tidy it up, gel might be the only real option for now. Not long until you will be able to tie your hair into a ponytail, which is definitely the best way to keep your hair tidy and out of the way for work, in my opinion.
Take care,
Neil.
