In my last post on this board, I commented that my hair had reached the "tushie milestone". I've finally gotten some decent photos to share with you.
This is 6 years and 5 months of growth. I'm been trimming along the way so that I can get all the layers to the same length.
I will post pictures of more angles below, so that you can assess the veracity.
Nice to hear from you William.
"Tushie" is a respectable milestone. Looking great!

Wow!!!!!! That is some great looking hair.
Hi William, well you may have kept us waiting for over three years, but it was worth it to see your amazing update. Your care programme has worked well for you and is an inspiration. Thanks, Ian
I'm impressed. Your hair is absolutely beautiful, and achieving the length you have is certainly something to be proud of. Your hair has such a wonderful vibrancy and glow to it, I was wondering if it naturally straight or do you use one of those straightening devices?
Thank you Marco. My hair is naturally fairly straight, with a gentle wave in it. Most of the wave has been pulled straight by the weight of the hair. You can still see some of the wave here and there, and especially at the tips.
Awesome length, William, and the excellent condition of your hair is just as amazing, to boot!!!
I've been growing my own hair almost double the amount of time as you have (my last short haircut being in Y2K, before I ever even knew about MLHH); but my hair must apparently grow way waaaay slower than yours -- mine is currently only about an inch or so past my belt, even though the trims I've had over the last 11 years have taken off no more than one inch at a time (and sometimes I've gone as long as 3 years between professional trims).
My hair at the bottom also tends to shape itself into a natural V-shape (but I also confess to having it trimmed that way the last time someone else trimmed it over a year ago) -- in other words, I think I'm either at or very close to my own terminal length; while you look like you could grow years to the floor (LOL)!!
Take care, William, it's always great to hear from you -- and hope you're keeping up with your dancing!
- Ken
Thanks Ken. When last you saw it, it was hardly more than shoulder length, wasn't it?
As for floor length, I don't know... Even if I were capable of growing it that long, I'm not sure I would want to. I think it would be too overwhelming.
As for dancing, well, you know I just moved. So far, most of my time as been taken up with work and with getting the new house built. I have put dancing on the back burner. Also, I seriously doubt I'll be able to find an instructor position like I had before. Line dancing is really huge here, but that's just not my shtick.
Yes, I think you are pretty much correct about that -- that's what I remember, anyway.
LOL, I think I'm with you there, even though I kid about floor-length. Knee-length would be about my own personal max, if I was lucky enough to ever be able to grow mine that long, that is (LOL)....
Well, but with your hair currently entering the tush-length category, wouldn't it be only appropriate to at least learn the C&W line dance called, "The Tush Push"??? (LOL)
Take care, William, it's always fun chatting with you!!
- Ken
I actually know that one. It's 1/4 of my total line dance repertoire
Oh William...your hair is about as beautiful as anything I've ever seen in my life. I'm awestruck.
Such a great compliment! "Thank you" seems insufficient

Your hair is absolutely gorgeous, William. It is really thick and it sure grows fast too. Seeing how thick it is right to the ends, you could probably grow it to knee length easily.
Scott
Oh wow! Hearing that from a longhair icon like you is too cool for words!
Hello William,
I have to say that is an excellent update. Really digging the length and you've kept it incredibly neat and tidy. Excellent stuff.
Take care,
Neil
Hi William,
This is a truly excellent update. I cannot get over your hair's amazing thickness, and your hair's condition and length are a true inspiration to all. You should be able to grow it a lot longer should you choose to do so.
Keep it growing,
David
Yep, that's the plan!
That's really amazing thickness and growth, well done!
High!
Waist-long hair and handlebar mustache - WOW!!! You are a perfect swamp gypsy now... I would like to see you all in fine leather (tight pants, waistcoat, shirt with flowing sleeves) and with a thick golden earring! And then waist-deep in a mangrove swamp, like Johnny Depp in the latest sequel of "Pirates of the Caribbean"!
Carry on!
See you in Khyberspace!

Amazing color, length and health, especially at your middle age! I'm hoping one day to get my hair at least as long as yours but I think the waves of my hair make it look shorter than its actual length. There's pluses and minuses to that.
