Hey guys,
I thought that my school would freak and demand a haircut soon as I'd return in my Senior Year, with my shoulder-length hair. Surprisingly enough, nary a teacher nor a disciplinarian has said a thing about it yet. I've only gotten a little attention from a Sister who works in my school's Guidance Office, but she can be ignored. As of now, I'm just riding the wave till I've to get a dreadful short haircut again. Totally thrilled at how long and swishy my ponytail is, and how I can braid the entirety of my hair. As a side note, thanks to encouragement from my girlfriend, I've gotten to wearing a ribbon in my hair when I go out, and now I've less anxiety about that. So things are presently rather good with hair!
All the best to each of you!
Venya : )
Wow man, your hair is looking gorgeous! I love every bit of it, and congrats on the good work. As for the ribbon, it's very nice as well! What kind of ribbon do you use? I wanted to use one as well, but I don't know if they need to be of a specific kind. Your ponytail remembered me of the characters in Interview with the Vampire, which is a very inspirational movie as I stated once. It's not very clear in the pic, but unfortunately, it's the best one i've found.
Big hug, and keep up the good work.
Thank you! : ) I dont get quite enough compliments about my hair where I live. Uh, for purely aesthetic value, I like to say that the ribbons I get are made of satin, but its closer to polyester, really. Feel the texture of the ribbon before you buy it, and made sure that its smooth. I like the one with a 5/8 inch width, if that also helps. Grosgrain and other stiffer ribbon isnt really optimum, because it doesnt hang down, and sort of looks awkward (in my opinion, anyway).
Yeah, I actually saw Interview for the first time a couple weeks ago! Awesome movie, and way easier to go through than the book (though I had a massive Anne Rice compilation, so it was sort of hefty to carry around).
All the best, Andy! :D

Speaking of "Interview with a Vampire"...
Today during school, a classroom full of students were watching a video with the lights off. There was one table yappin' it up, so I went over to them, leaned over the table and scolded them. What I got back was one aspirated voice saying to the other, then to the next and so on, "Hey, he looks like a vampire!" "Yeah, he really does." "He does look like a vampire!" etc.
I don't know if that's a good thing or not >_> .....
Sincerely,
yoshiki
It looks beautiful with the bow in it! ;D It looks very classical that way! Absolutely Awesome! Your girlfriend rocks!!!!!!
I admire your strength!

Many thanks, John! Its encouraging to hear such words. A longhair can feel most alone in their pursuit (amidst the shorthaired majority), but the beauty of our community allows our friendly wills to reach across the world. All the best, mate!
Hi Venya,
Man, looking super - way ahead of me :p ! I've always been envious of blond hair, it just looks nice :) . Your bow is also a nice touch that gives contrast to your hair... it all just looks great :D ! Have you tried the biotin yet, like you mentioned earlier? Have you seen any benefits?
I have the feeling that if your school has been this lax in enforcement into the school year this far, they just might let you ride the wave all the way until you graduate ^_~ ! I hope you can keep it all the way until then ^^ !
Ah, I watched "Interview with a Vampire" when it was first released - back when I was a kid (oh, the memories ~_~ ). That movie was one of many first inspirations of mine to grow out my hair, although I had to wait twenty years to actually do it :p . Time does fly, though, so worst does come to worst for you, time can be made up so easily. Don't sweat it too much ^_~ ~
Hope all it well right now with you at home and with your studies, and please take care here into the fall. Enjoy the season ^^ !
Sincerely (what happened to you Russian, huh :p ?),
yoshiki
Domō arigatou, Yoshiki-san! ^_^
I have been easing my nervous system into Biotin with a 1000mcg dosage (5000mcg being a regular minimum), and so far, it has thickened the hairs on my arms, and their color has darkened (Ive chestnut hair) to a black-brown. Unfortunately, the disciplinarian at my school demanded a haircut on Monday, so I had to hack three inches off, though I did take pictures of and wear it in styles that required longer hair, so that helped me cope a little. And its not as if it doesnt grow back. ^_^ Can hardly wait for the day that I have hair to the small of my back. I have white ribbons Im gonna start wearing after graduation, as a sort of celebration from leaving that fascist Hell. : )
Yeah, I had originally gotten the idea for a beribboned ponytail from such aristocratic figures (as well as the American forefathers), and now I plan on buying a kilt soon. My clan tartans dont have aesthetically pleasing patterns, so I figure Ill just wear a tartan designed for anyone. :p
Studies are excellent so far! I have many courses either conducive to my prospective field of work, or just simply interesting. As the schools new Philosophy Club president, Ive also to handle all that, beginning with our first meeting next Monday. Hoping for underclassmen to come, so that we have people to fill our places after graduation. :D
How goes your work at the school? And your family? Forgive me if I am being bold, but have you any children? I hope that things are going phenomenally for you. I am utterly sure your hair will turn out fantastically in due time.
С уважением,
(With regards,)
Venya
P.S. I had dropped the Russian because it was sort of a pain to swap keyboards on my iPod, or pull up Google Translate for the Cyrillic alphabet encoder all the time, but Ill be sure to keep it up when we correspond.
P.P.S Have to meditate and then get to bed now, as Ive a horrendously early alarm for school tomorrow, and have been falling asleep in class of late, what with a lack of adequate sleep. All the best, my friend! : )
Hi Venya,
So they did get to you in the end, huh :( ? I like how you look at the situation... you're right - it all just grow back in the end :D . Three inches isn't too bad. If your hair grows at the average rate of a half inch per month, if you think about it, you'll be at where you were at the beginning of the year - near the end of your high school career ^_~ . What a nice way to end it all if they'd just let you go with the three inches-plus grown back, huh :) ? You never know ^_~ .....
With the biotin, I found that it is really easy on the body, so I don't see why you couldn't just jump straight onto the 5,000 wagon unless you're having adverse reactions to it. I think it's definitely has helped my hair - combined with Omega 3-6-9.
As for the rest, hopefully you got my message. If not, please let me know.
Hope you're not falling to sleep as much now in class :p heh, thank you for the kind wishes and will hopefully be in touch soon ^_^ !
Sincerely,
yoshiki
This looks excellent - the ribbon is surprisingly attractive.
Why will you ever need to have a short haircut again?
Thank you, UK! :D
Eh, my school has this rubbish rule about male haircuts, ever since two students of the aforesaid sex with long hair dyed theirs orange and purple, respectively. Being a staunchly conservative institution interested in the preservation of a gender dichotomy, they hit the roof and instituted a rule demanding hair above the collars and the ears. But I tuck my hair behind my ears, as Jackson Teller does on Sons of Anarchy, so Ive only to deal with the collar rule. Its utter shite, but theres only my Senior year to go. So I deal.
Thanks for the compliments, though. Hope that all is well, or that it shall find it's way with you.
Regards,
Venya
Ribbons were all the rage a couple of centuries ago, when all the guys wore ponytails. Mind you, I think it was always black for guys and pink for girls.
It could well have been because they may not have invented elastic by then, i.e. the ribbon was the only thing holding their hair in the ponytail.
