Greetings all! I'm not sure exactly how long it's been since I posted an update that showed the length, at least several months anyway. It's still coming in nicely and I look forward to more length.
I don't really do anything special to take care of it, just keep it simple. I wash it thoroughly with shampoo and conditioner (just cheap Suave type stuff, something Mane & Tail if I have it laying around), maybe 2-3 times per week, though probably closer to 2 on average (I don't get out and sweat a lot so it doesn't get dirty too fast). I never blow dry it, never dye or straighten it etc. Just towel dry as much as I can for a few minutes and then let it air out. If it's too frizzy or "dry" after it dries then I just rub on a teeny bit of olive oil and brush it in. Just figured I'd post all that since I notice it gets asked quite often (especially by people who are just starting to grow out for the first time like I was not long ago).
Onward and downward! :)
Also... Yay for red-eye!
Oh, and the obligatory rage shot... because our decision to stop artificially removing our natural hair doesn't make us sissies. >:O
And because I was bored.
Cracking pic mate. Reconnect with the warrior ancestors! *ROAR* lol
Lovin' the red eye :-) Some great looking hair and growing really well, healthy, shiny and will get better and better. Ian
Ha ha, gotta love those eyes!LOL.Looks like a pair of lasers:)
However those eyes don't overshadow your fantastic mane.Sounds like you stick to the basics and are fortunate to be rewarded with very smooth, silky hair:)How long have you been growing it to reach your current length?Hopefully you ain't done yet with your journey.Cheers my friend.

Hey hairball. I'm not sure exactly how long it's been growing now, more than 2 years but less than 3 I believe. I should have kept better track but just didn't think to. I hadn't really planned on growing it long originally but just didn't feel like getting another buzzcut when the time came that I usually did, and it steadily progressed from there, until I actually decided on long hair (first time grower). It would be a few inches longer in the back except that I trimmed back there about a year ago in an attempt to even things up a bit (I started from a near-shaved head and it was looking like a mullet during the awkward stage). I was daring and did it myself with 2 mirrors and a pair of scissors, probably not the best idea but it turned out alright. Haven't touched it since then though and don't plan to for at least another year or two, since I want it longer.
Hey, I like your story as your journey was more spontaneous
than planned.Sometimes that's the best way to do it as the longer it gets... the more you love it:)Sure beats a buzz cut in my book that's for sure.I feel you look great with the length and I'm confident you'll like it longer too so please don't prove me wrong;)Cheers my friend.

Yep I agree. The only downside is when playing around it can get in the way. I'm currently sharing a home with a 3 year old, 5 year old, 8 year old, and 11 year old (all boys) and they like to wrestle around with me and when they're all jumping around at once then hair occasionally tends to get pulled on (usually on accident, I don't tolerate intentional pulling). :X
For anything else though I love it.
Looks awesome dude! While my hair is nearly as long, mine is very fine and lacks the fullness of yours. Thanks for sharing your progress!!

Hi AnotherSchmoe,
What excellent progress, your hair appears to be shiny and in good condition, and I look forward to your future progress.
Keep it growing,
David
Ey, Schmoe;
Ooh, you have such a pretty mane! : ) And then what with the redeye and beard, its as if youre some Asgardian God of War. :D Seriously, though, dude, you sorta look like me, and I want your hairr. :p Onward and downward!
Regards,
Venya
Hey mate,
It seems like you have the best kind of long hair, the hair that seems to look after itself pretty well and still looks great. You lucky sod :) The pic you've posted looks awesome, it looks really well looked after and like you've made more of a fuss over it than you actually have. Great update sir!
Take care,
Neil.
You have great looing hair, but I'm sure lots of people tell you that, but it is true. Keep it and grow it as long as you can. Tom
Wonderful pics and fun comments there, AnotherSchmoe -- I especially got a kick out of your "warpath" pic!!
Anyway, you have the kind of mane that i tend to get very jealous of -- great color, nice wave to it, and very full & thick... In other words: the only thing I don't like about this recent update of yours is that I wish it was MY OWN hair (LOL)!!
Take care -- and again, great update!

Thanks Ken. Fret not however, thine own mane is beyond words!
