Hey everyone been growing my hair for about a year a 5 months. Never trimmed at all and for most of my life I rocked a shape up with occasional hair on my forehead but nothing more. But now since I have been growing it I have been noticing that my hair just curls like no tomorrow. Like it is straight and then at the end it just curves away. Is there anyway to get rid of that? I was thinking about trimming an inch off to get that curl out. What do you guys think?
Hi Kyle - you have great looking hair! leave it to grow and you will end up with nice waves as you hair takes continues with its nautural curl which will look amazing - if that's what you want!! Good luck, Ian
Welcome to the board, Kyle! While there isn't any good way to remove the curl, it can be minimized by combing it straight as it drys and keeping the ends lightly oiled as dry hair tends to curl more. Also note that as your hair grows longer the added weight will cause it to flatten out more. My hair is similar to yours, and I always thought I had completely straight hair until it got to about that length and I started to see some waves. That little flip at the end disappeared after it got longer.
Hang in there, your hair is looking good and will look even better when it get a little longer.

Trimming will not permanently get rid of the curls, they will regrow exactly the same so you thoughts are incomplete and effectively futile.
Just leave them, as the hair gets more weight they will diminish but even if they do not, curls are to be cherished not punished.
If you trim, it will just curl at the ends, which will be shorter than before.
You clearly have a natural curl to your hair, which will probably always show at the ends, but as it gets longer, the amount othat you lose in appearance will be less and less compared to the overall length. Don't fight it - it looks fine!
Mine looked that way at that length when I was around your age. It's that length that makes it look that way. It doesn't look wierd it looks sweet dude.
I have noticed that when I wash my hair and use conditioner there is no curl at the ends. On the other hand if i don't shampoo and just use conditioner it curls at the end. Could that be what is happening in your case?
