Here's a pic of our little hiking group (minus myself, the photographer), taken just recently, during the last week of September. In actuality, our "hike" was really just more of a stroll along the historic Earthquake Trail (not even a full mile); but we enjoyed the sights & sounds of being at Point Reyes National Seashore nevertheless.
From left to right: Bill, Scott (Absalom), Larry (Bill's partner), and Mark AKA "Hairball!"
Scott made a very generous & kind offer to Larry to share some of his extra hair to help him keep warm and enable him to fit in with the longhaired group better, until Scott realized the full impact of that offer -- and then he suddenly took it all back and told Larry to go grow his own knee-length hair himself!
.... And if you believe the above story, I also have a big bridge for sale (called "Golden Gate", or something like that)...

A little-known fact about National Parks in the USA is their new strict guidelines re. hair inspections at all park entrances and trailheads. But the problem nowadays is the fact that with national budget cuts and all, park visitors now have to do these hair inspections on their own themselves (saves the US government lots of $$ to no longer have to ask park rangers to inspect each visitors' hair anymore)...
I'm still trying to sell that bridge, you know. You can make out your check to me personally, for any amount you wish to pay -- really, any amount at all is just fine with me!
.... And if you believe EITHER of the above two stories, then you need to not only have your hair examined, but also INSIDE YOUR HEAD!!! (Lol!!)
Here's Scott preparing his speech in case he wins the annual Longest Longhair in Point Reyes National Seashore contest:
"Ladies and gentlemen, I'd like to thank the Academy, my mother, my father, my hair genes, my multiple hair-ties, my bandana, and also my banana, for the honor of now holding this Oscar in my hands... thank you.... thank you.... thank you..."
Again, though, due to severe budget cuts, the diamond tiara and the golden Oscar statue were no longer given out by the National Park Service anymore -- so, as you can see, we made do with a simple hair tiara instead...

I am really surprised that my beard wasn't inspected. It is big enough to hide contraband. LOL
Scott
Hay scott,, i did not know that park rangers inspected beards? I thought to give you an E-Mail to say hi buddy ! And give you my yahoo address again. Hay i got that permotion at work ! I start on weds in my co workers position. Later.
Hey Ken,
Thanks so much for posting these pics from our day at the park.I know I could have done it over a week ago being you e mailed them to me but then everyone here at mlhh would have been deprived of your witty humor:)LOL.In particular I was amused by the required hair inspection pic at the park entrance.I don't know where you come up with these ideas.LOL.Oh well the pics brought back fine memories of our day together as I wish we could do these on a more regular basis.Hence my reasons for wanting to be a permanent resident there;)Talk to you later my friend.Cheers.
Mark
Hey Mark,
I have no idea why these silly ideas pop into my head or where they come from, all I know is sometime a pic will "speak" to me in some weird way -- so then I write it down because i think it either fits, or is funny to at least me... The fact that other people occasionally enjoy the same warped sense of humor as I do is just icing on the cake!
Thanks again for your kind comments, and I'm looking forward to your next visit out here!

Hi again jonalbear,
Yes, Point Reyes is a beautiful National Park -- I only wish we had more days to enjoy seeing even more of it!
And I agree with you 100% about the fact that being in the company of Bill, Larry, Scott, and Mark is always a joy and privilege to hang out with!
Long Lox 4ever,
Ken
Hi Ken,
Thank you for sharing all of your photos of your meet-up with Mark and the others, and hopefully, one of these days, I will indeed make that trip across the USA and meet all of you personally!
Thank you for sharing,
David
You're welcome, David! And I definitely hope you do make that trip out West here, as I'd love to meet you, too!!
Take Care, and always happy to hear from you!
