Although this particular pic of me was taken last summer, I was wearing this same exact shirt just recently while attending a local C&W dance event. Meeting up with one of my dance partners that I hadn't seen in a long time, this is how the conversation went with my friend, Don....
Don: "Where'd you get this big fruity-colored shirt?"
me: "At San Francisco Tent & Awning."
Don: "From the parachute aisle?"
me: "No, from the Men's Maternity section."
Don: "Expecting twins?"
me: "No, but the doc says I'm waaay overdue!"
Don: "Well, at least I know I won't have any trouble finding you on this crowded dance floor -- I'll just look for the giant dancing peach with the long blonde braid!!"

BTW, didn't you go on a cardiac diet when you had your heart attack? I've lost 10 pounds since going on my diet. Shouldn't you be skinny as a rail by now? I'm just saying -- we don't want you to wind up in a hospital gain. Take care of yourself.
we don't want you to wind up in a hospital gain.
Geez... I wish this thing had edit after posting capability. That should be "again", not "gain".
Hi Pat,
My biggest challenge is that I cook for a living (and unfortunately, I not only like my own cooking, I also like others')... I used to do gardening and landscaping work; but my knees and other factors made me eventually decide to go back to my old profession of working in a kitchen. It's hard sticking to a diet when you have to be around food all day long!
Right now I'm trying to push myself to simply get back into more natural exercise -- more walking, more dancing, more of ANYthing that makes me feel like I'm not so much having to "work" at it, but rather having fun & helping myself to stay more fit at the same time.
I've had a small amount of success recently; but I know that I still need to do a heck of a lot more. Increased physical activity helps me want to eat less quantity of food; so this is how I'm currently working with my doctor on setting a serious goal for losing some of that extra weight...
Thanks for your reply, Pat, always good to hear from you -- and kudos to you for losing 10 pounds, that's not an easy thing to do at our age!
My best to you!!

Hey Ken, what a funny post and that picture of you cracks me up!LOL.That pizza box, for whatever reason, looks like a double extra large!Seriously, or not, that was a funny give and take with your friend Don.If your to be a peach on the dance floor I bet you'd be a hit in Georgia;)BTW,you'd make a great comedian Ken so maybe a second career?Cheers my friend.
Mark
Thanks, Mark! The pic with the giant pizza box was taken last summer up in OR when I attended my niece's wedding up there. My brother Bruce took that pic, and the shocked look on my face was a hammy intentional attempt on our part to show how shocked we were at finding pizzas that big -- I guess it's an Oregon thing (LOL)....
Re. ever becoming a comedian, I couldn't take the boos, nor attempt to entertain an audience of drunks at a club; so I just entertain myself and torture the poor souls on this site, that's good enough for me (LOL)!
Later,
Ken
I love random comedic lines like that, reminds me of Monty Python :))
That is one big pizza (i loooove pizza)
