Hey there, I uploaded 2 "before" pictures (top) from about 4 months ago to show where I started my journey. The two "after" pictures (bottom) were taken today and show where i'm at. Overall I am very happy with my hair and cannot wait to eventually reach my goal. I do have a question though. As you can see I started off my journey with significantly more hair up top than are the back. My hair is now pretty long in the front, but shorter in the back. I heard mixed opinions about this. Some people told me it's better because it will help get to the ponytail stage faster. Other's told me it looks more natural to have it longer in the back. What do you guys think? please be honest.
Hi there unreal,
I feel your hair currently looks great and I'd just let nature take its course. Some guys like to trim until everything evens up but I think that just prolongs the journey.Honestly its been a very long time since I was at your stage so really I can't remember how I dealt with the awkward stage hair. You have great quality hair so I'd just let it grow to magnificence my friend. It's a whole lot easier to adjust the length with hair in its natural state as opposed to randomly trimmed along the way.Hmm, does that make sense?lol.Looking great anyway:)Cheers
Mark
I think your fortunate as it seems to take forever for the front to reach the back, and your ahead of the game. When my hair used to be shoulder length ( I'm eight months into growing it back out again from 1/4") it seemed as if the front would never reach the back.

Ah man, it's such a slow journey and the hair in the back it's really fundamental to achieve fast the 'long hair look'. I cut it every two months (the hair near the neck) cause it's very unmanageable, so I'm happy with it, everything's fine, but really I won't be a long haired until my crown passes the 12' mark.
Honestly after looking at your photos your hair looks like...an amazing journey from point A to where it is now. Also, like people said since your hair was longer in the front than the back, yeah it may look "awkward," but ponytail time it will be easier seeing as it will not have those annoying fly-aways. Just stay away from the scissors and you will be fine.
Ziggy
the simple answer is....just let it grow and don't cut it, you have such a great start and the more hair you have in the awkward stage the more options for styling you'll have too.
Embrace the whole of your hair......it will get better and better...simply wash, leave to dry.....and repeat!! No scissors needed for beautiful long hair.
Good luck

Just keep on growing - there is no need to analyse individual elements of your hair to this extent or at all. In three years time you can then consider any issues with its shape but even then you should not expect any action.
If you are growing long hair, don't cut it! It's that simple. Let it all grow out as is. The growth will take care of itself. The maintenance won't, so take care of it.
Your progress looks good. Have fun.
Take care.

I think your hair looks great long or short in front or back, really nice and thick looking, great looking head of hair.

Hi unrealxXx,
You really do have a great head of hair to work with. It is thick, has good shine, and has enough wave to make things interesting. For now, I would just say to let it grow!
Keep it growing,
David
Unreal, your hair looks great, in very good condition, and I love the dark color! I see you have combed it down neatly, which looks good ~ but I bet it looks good a little windblown and a bit messy too! :) Keep up the great progress!
