Thank you Benny, Venya, and nuttidave for your comments on my post, below (which is now waaay below)... I've been away from my computer for a full week now, so apologies for my late reply. Here's a more specific response to each of you:
1) Benny - although I appreciate your honesty, thanks but no thanks for the suggestion to shave off my beard. Maybe what you don't like about it is the fact that I've been coloring it recently (with the "Just for Men" facial hair product); but this is a phase I'm currently trying out -- maybe I'll return to my natural Santa Claus white again (LOL), but am having fun experimenting with both color & length for the moment... The last time I was completely clean-shaven was when a job I had required that of me back when I was still in my 20s; but once I quit that job, the first thing I did was grow my beard back. I occasionally trim it to a short goatee-type; but I really love it more when I look a bit "shaggy!" I also have a weak chin and a bit of a "baby face" when beardless; so even if shaving made me look younger now, I'm too attached to it to ever consider seriously removing it.
2) Venya - thanks as always for your nice feedback, you are always a gentleman in every way!
3) nuttidave - I've decided to simply delay updating my avatar pic, for now.... procrastination and indecision being some of my most stellar personal "virtues" (LOL), I'll just keep my 7 year old current avatar pic, until nobody here can possibly ever recognize the real me anymore (LOL)!
Thanks again!!

^^ Hey! I resemble that remark!! I, too, possess both those virtues in abundance. If you ever run out, I shall give some of mine to you... maybe... if you get around to asking...
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
LOL, yep, looks like we both belong to the same elite "club!"
Reminds me of a favorite wooden sign that a good friend and favorite dance partner of mine use to have hanging in her kitchen: "I clean my house every other day -- today is the other day!"
Unrelated to the topic of procrastination, but just as funny, was another sign that this same friend had hanging in another part of her house. It read like this: "Husband and dog lost -- reward for dog!" My friend told me she found it at a flea market... A couple of weeks later she found the exact same sign at another flea market, and got it for me as a present, which I still have hanging up on my kitchen wall. Life is good, as long as we can find ourselves a good excuse to laugh now & then!
