Still a shorthair now but I wanted to let you know about my progress.
Well I still have short hair but at least I don't look like a skinhead now. Last friday I went on vacation and I vowed to stop smoking while on vacation.
It's been almost 6 whole days. 6 x 24 hours. Now I've only made it this far twice, the last time was 6 days. Of course I'm a bit wiser and I realize just once will have me puffing away again. But it looks like I've beaten this monster.
I hope it goes well for you. A few weeks ago, I was in a seminar that was discussing habits. I think it takes about 20 days to form a habit (good or bad), so I will be cheering for you as you get closer and closer.
Congratulations in sticking it out this far. Try and visualise your lungs getting cleaner, clearer and healthier each passing day as well as saving heaps of $$ in the long term.

I've quit smoking a few years ago and I'm very happy I made that decision.
You're very right, one cigarette will have you smoking again. That thought helped me a lot in the beginning.

I quit smoking over nine years ago. The roughest time for me was the second week. It wasn't so much the chemical dependancy that I found difficult, but the behavioral habits I had formed around smoking. Identifying my triggers is was what helped me. Such as eating: I always wanted a cigarette after a meal. Also, getting in a car or walking outside. If I saw the trigger coming, it was easier to deal with.

If you have really strong willpower you will not have the desire to smoke again. fight the urge to smoke those cancer sticks!
you will be much more healthy after a few weeks once you realized that you have finally kicked the habit!
incidentally, I read something that smoking is not healthy for long hair online awhile back. glad I never started!!
