Having been in the military for the past 5 years only during deployments did a fortnight pass without getting a haircut. I fulfilled my service with the Army and my hair is once again under my control. Now it's been roughly 3 months since my last haircut and I have vowed to not get another till at least a year. As the length has increased the waveyness has made a long-awaited appearance. Previously I never worried about styling my hair due to its shortness. Now though I've started to wonder if I should plan for when it has grown longer. I have began parting my hair in the middle and combing it to the sides. I'm hoping this will help "guide" my hair to grow that way. From your experiences would you say establishing a part like this is important in the long run? I will reply here with pictures of the varying conditions of my hair as the day progresses.
I hope to most this wasn't a TL;DR situation.
A centre part as your hair gets longer will help in managing it.
Could luck, just don't be tempted to trim for two years.
Can you control where your hair is parted or will the part form
on it's own where it wants to?
My hair is parted on the side, i'd love to move the part to the
middle. Can i do it? Or am I stuck with the part on the side?
Yeah just brush it all straight back and then part it in the middle (it's better to brush it back first to avoid tangling it up by flipping it all over in one motion). Mine's a little past my shoulders and I still part to the side however. Maybe when it gets longer I'll part it in the middle, but right now I think it makes me look weird (probably just because I'm not used to it on me, because I think it looks perfectly normal when other people do it).
Alright thank you. I have never done any sort of part with my hair so I didn't know. Sorry about the lack of pictures it's been a busy day.
