Was walking back from college today and the wind was blowing through my hair. I loved the feeling and when I came home, I realized how awesome it made my hair look. I took a few "arty" pictures on my mom's mac for fun.
Yes, it's a great feeling having the wind blow thru the hair. And while it's doing that, oil is released by the follicles to protect the scalp/hair making it look and feel a little better. The extra weight of the longer hair moved by the wind really exercises the muscles of the scalp in a great way. Good artsy pics by the way.

Isn't this a perfect recipe for hair damage?
I had heard that you should tie the hair into
a pony tail, braid or something else to prevent
hair damage.
Espeically when you have a strong Northwest wind
at 60 mph. Oh and not to mention hair getting
tangled up in the wind.
At his current length I don't think it's a problem. Mine is a few inches past my shoulders and I haven't really noticed any extra hair breakage from letting it blow around in the wind. Sure it gets really tangled up but as long as I'm careful unwinding it it turns out alright. Still it is easier to wear a hat or tie it up on a very windy day! :P
Sorry for belated response. Yes your are right concerning strong winds especially all the time. Mild winds are good in that it causes the hair to move, which increases stimulation to the scalp and further exercizes those scalp muscles. But strong winds (like on a motorcycle @ 60 mph) certainly tangles the hair. In my book Our LONG HAIRitage my point is that hair is designed to take quite a beating (wind, sun, weathering) compared to bare skin. For that reason the crop-heads should grow their hair out for their own protection.

Great pic, very nice hair. You remind me of the singer Steve Perry. Tom(Hairboy)
That is Steve Perry, isn't it? Sing a few bars of "Foolish Heart." I love that song.
That looks really nice!! Very easy on the eyes. Could make a record cover - or a business card? Well done. ;p
