Hello there everyone. My name is Sean but my friends and family call me Slim. I have been lurking on this forum for quite a while now and thought it was finally time to post a picture of myself and my hairs progress. I believe it has been about a year and a half since I began my transition to being a long hair. I've only had one or two trims if I remember correctly. My hair is very wavy and curly so the growing process seems to be taking forever. I'm just glad I am past the awkward stage.
I have what I like to call a samurai bun in this pic. :)
Hi Slim, and congratulations on your first posting. You will get all the halp and inspiration here from your fellow longhairs. Welcome, Ian
Thanks for the kind words Ian. I look forward to seeing some of your posts. I can already tell this is a very accepting and well-rounded community.
Hey Slim :) Wavy/curl hair does seem to take forever to grow out, but it's definitely worth it. That's a pretty awesome samurai bun thing you've got. What's your method or tying it up?
Any chance of see your hair out of the bun?
Terry
Absolutely agree 100%.
I have just posted a reply to the comment above with another pic with my hair down. To get it in the bun is surprisingly simple. I just tie it like I am going to put it in a pony tail, but instead of letting the ends hang out I put them half way through the band again and they just sandwich together to form a little bun. I know it's not a very good explanation but if more people want to know how I can make a little tutorial or something. The hair much be on the shorter side (about shoulder length) to pull it off though.
Regards,
Sean
Hi Sean,
Welcome to the mlhh as a poster from a lurker:)Always nice to see new longhairs join the fray my friend.Cool looking bun but I too would love to see the length if your up to showing it.Still the bun looks great and comes in handy when doing activities that could snag or tangle your hair.Than you for your post:)Cheers
Mark
Thanks for the warm welcoming! I had just got back from Yoga class when I took that picture so that's why I had it up in the bun. Here's a picture that was taken a couple months ago.. it has since grown a little bit longer (just past my back) but I am trying to keep it shoulder length and wait for the front to catch up to the back.
