Hi guys,
If you remember I posted a couple weeks ago about the new job I got and wondering if based on my observations at the interview, long hair would probably be acceptable.
Well today was my first day at work and walking around the office I saw a few guys with shoulder-length hair! I was kinda hoping that would happen... just walk in and BAM! Longhairs! I then mentioned that I'm growing mine out to my orientation trainer and she said that pretty much anything goes here... people have their hair dyed funky colors like pink and purple, somebody apparently has a mohawk. Awesome!
This place is going to be a hell of a lot of fun. Just thought I'd give y'all an update! :D

My take on this would be that it sounds like God gave you the desire of your heart. I pray it happens with me, too.

This is awesome and how it should be! It's always a blessing to know that there certainly are cool places out there who hire longhairs, which looks better in my opinion anyway.
Always nice to be welcomed by an open-minded work-place. I am also fortunate enough to be employed at a company that does not care what you look like as long as you get the job done.

I'm also very encouraged by your experience. I work in IT and most people are very accepting of long hair in this field. I think only one comment I ever heard on the job was "Where did you ever get all that hair? Can I have some?"

Yeah this place is awesome. One of the guys in my department with hair just above shoulder length has tats and wears thick bracelets as well as some kind of shiny metal sleeve on one of his fingers... sort of rocks a semi-Goth look. Pretty much anything goes here, it's like the individualist's dream company, haha.
When my hair finally gets long again I should be able to wear it down all day if I want. I'll probably keep it in a tail most of the time to protect it though.
Awesome that your workplace is so cool about longhairs! Part of why I want to go into psychotherapy is that I'd like to be my own boss, but one would hope that they could be as lucky as you in this regard till that day comes!
Anyways, it's wonderful that you're delighted by your new work environment, and I hope that the job itself is just as satisfying (if not more) than the atmosphere!
