Hi,
So...as the title says, currently the sides are short and the top is much longer. I would say the sides are around 1 CM and that the top is 6 or 7 CM. It kinda looks out of proportion just now. Do you think that in a few months time, it would all fall into place? I don't want to get the top cut to make it seem right, as it would completely put me off growing my hair completely.
Thank you in advance :)
Well chances are the length-difference between the shorter & longer sections isn't going to change for a very, very long time.
But once the shorter sections get a few inchs longer, most people probibly wont even see the difference anymore.
Hope this helps.
It will definitely fall into place, don't worry about it. I started out with the same length buzzed all over and I ended up with a quasi-mullet look during the awkward stage, with the back appearing longer than the top (due to the top hairs having farther to travel, even though the length of individual hairs was equal). I got so fed up with it that I took some scissors and a mirror and trimmed a few inches off the back (basically cleared the neck) to give the rest a bit more time to catch up. I kind of regret that decision now because at my current length I can see that it would not have mattered in the long run (it reaches between my shoulder blades now), and at this point I'd value any length I can get. But it all works out in the end I suppose. I guess what I'm trying to say is that when growing from a short length having it a little longer on top certainly isn't going to hurt anything.
Thank you, I think I'm just going to wait and see. When I kinda lean all of them to one side it doesn't look that bad, and it seems in a way fashionable.
I think you made a wise decision. As it gets longer it won't be quite as noticeable. When I started growing my hair out I had a similar cut and the only real down side to it was that the top could be tailed long before the sides could. In the mean time I just used some styling gel on the sides and stuck as much of the short hair under the longer hair as would hold. :-)
