For a number of years and since being diagnosed Diabetic, I do daily workouts at a local gym as one of the best ways to beat-up this disease. The guys there (with two exceptions) all have the standard "Buzz Cuts." The exceptions are one young man with below mid-back length hair and myself with longish.
But for the funny part, at least to myself. Time after time one of the "Buzz Cuts" gets way out of control and may grow as long as 3/4th's of an inch at the most. OMG!!! In any case, when cut back to 1/4th inch or less, or simply shaved bald, he is suddenly showerd with the comments by the others: "I JUST LOVE YOU HAIR!" (Inside I contain my laughter because I am thinking: what hair?) I mean really, wonder what they are all seeing that is so fantastic? Meanwhile, it is interesting to note that "not once" have I ever heard any of the women that go to this gym say a suingle thing. They ONLY comment on myself and especially to the other guy with the below mid-back hair.
Just thought I would share this little tid-bit with all of you. Please remember, I have nothing against a guy with a Buzz Cut and if this is what he desires then he certainly should have it. However, I just cannot understand comments saying that something is loved that can barely be seen and of which there really isn't all that of a unique style.
All the best guys! :-)

Sounds like he should have said "I love your head" :P
Really?!.... You may want to think again before saying that in a lot of Gyms.....Now to the point regarding comments about hair when there is obviouslt none. It is herd mentality. They are reinforcing their standing and beliefs and fighting against the insecurities of being "outside" Sad, actually. And a mindset I simply can not fathom. Some guys shave as defiance against baldness. some because they believe it to be fashionable or, to impart a "Macho" stance.

hahahaha thats was funny!....I dont understand why some men like a bald head, I understand it if you have male pattern baldness and your insecure about how it looks with longish hair, but if your capable of growing hair though out your whole head why cut it bald? its a mystery to me

One of those "Unsolved Mysteries" I guess;)LOL
It's a total mystery to me too - and it seems so stupid - but in a way I'm glad they do. It makes me stand out a bit more! ;)

Justin,
do you recall when girls hated the military look and preferred guys with longer hair or even "longish" hair?
what happen to those days
Are today's young women anti-hair when it come's to Men?
I would love to see you do a video about this very subject and upload it to youtube when you have time!
No, it isn't and I will never understand the appeal.
Hi
I made 2 short videos back in the days when my hair was still long. Here is one of them. Please note the comments, they kinda say it all. :-)

My god Justin, you are so different with the hair and the beard! I barely recognized you. Maybe you have already said it and I never saw, but why did you cut it?
1. 1st a Salon demolished it and later........
2. Emergency surgery for Precardia and draining out 14lbs of fluid around my Heart.
Much too hard on the body and despite trying to save my hair it kept falling out. After 9 months it just wasn't worth it so I cut it. Now I am just having fun with crazy "longish" styles.
