Very interesting article about the West German army's brief experiment with long hair on it's soldiers in the early 70s.

The arguments that supposedly led to short hair being reintroduced are completely specious and without merit. Laughable, from the point of view of anyone who actually has long hair.
Didn't the Dutch military let it's male soldiers have long hair from the early 1970s until the mid 1990s?
