Really glad to be here. This is Nicholas from California, and I'm happy to find this board on the net! Having long hair in 2011 is quite the surprise to many people, it seems... not quite sure why that is, but I wear my hair proudly.
Best wishes, great to be here.
Hi Nicholas, you have every reason to be proud with that amazing mane. Welcome along and enjoy the ride. Ian
Ian, thank you man. I'm glad to have found this board.
NicholasWR,
Welcome to MLHH!
Fantastic curly head of hair you have there!
You're in good company here.
peace, jonalbear
Jonalbear,
it's great to be here, man. Thanks.
^^^ As well you should!! Your hair totally rocks, love the bit of red in it too! :)
Laura,
I appreciate the kind words, and look forward to speaking to you here on the board. It is a great feeling to have you here!!
Nicholas
I heard there are lots of Men with long hair there and it is not an issue at all with employers!
has the economy improved?
I spent 5 weeks in California this summer (San Diego area) and can attest to long hair on men being quite common. Short hair / buzz cut still seemed to be the most popular choice but long hair was certainly not a rarity while I was there.
Not sure I'd want to live in Southern California though, a little too packed in (at least near the ocean) and the weather never really seems to change, which some people like but I'd probably get bored of. Never been to Northern California but I'd probably like that. I live in the Ozarks in Arkansas which is a long way out, I see some men with long hair here but not as many as I saw in California. Granted, I don't see as many PEOPLE here period, compared to how many I'd see on a daily basis walking around in California. There are about 15,000 people in the county where I live and about 3,000,000 people in San Diego County, so you're bound to notice more variety there when you're subjecting your eyes to that many different people every day. ;P
Greg,
well man, there aren't as many long haired men here in central california or southern california. But in the northern areas, I've heard long hair is quite prevalent.
The economy still bites whale blubber! thanks for asking tho, as I've been out of a damn job for years now. It's tough, but I've still got the hair. hahaaha.
take care man, Nick
Oddly enough your hair looks similar to mine. If that's what I'm looking forward to when it grows out then all the more to embrace it.
Thrasher,
hell yeah man. Keep it growin'. I'm a thrasher too (guitarist, vocalist, pianist (yeah its a great instrument not often heard in metal, am I right?) and am into Testament, Metallica circa 86-91, Megadeth circa 87-95, all that good shit man. Hit me up here on the site or on my email for further band discussion.
Embrace the future man, it will be here sooner than you realize. You've got the metal spirit, I can tell just from your post.
Keep the metal faith, we're a rare bunch in these endtimes...
Take care bro, Nick
Great hair man! I just began my journey and have curly hair similar to yours.. Wear it proud mate!
Thanks man! may your journey be a scissorless one. :) As my dad used to say, 'the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step'. It's tough @ first (you'll get the 'hey you look like Eddie Vedder, Jim Morrison, Jesus, the dude from blah blah movie' all the time, I promise. It just comes with our type of hair, I guess! I've come realize that the type of hair we have is pretty rare, and people will always question if it's permed or natural.)
take care man, keep it growin'! Nick
You have great looking hair. I like it hanging down in your face some, a great look. Tom(Hairboy)
Tom, thanks bro, 'preciate it.
