Can someone please advise me on black hair dyes which do not use PPD?
Hello there Rudy, I believe you are new around here, so welcome, first of all! As for dying your hair, I would advise you NOT to use any industrialized dyes. There are plenty of ways to dye your hair with natural product, which are not harmful to hair nor to the environment, and that is a win/win lol. I know black tea and coffee can make your hair darker, but I don't know for sure the recipe. Google "Natural hair dyes", and you will find lots of info. I think Ehow has an article on how to use the black tea. Also, there is always henna. Just keep an eye for allergies, and I think you will be fine =)
Big Hug!
Thanks for the replies. And Andy, I have been here from 1997, but not posted frequently in recent times for various reasons. But thanks for the welcome - always nice to be welcomed!!
WRT Henna, I am told that the black henna uses a dye which is usually heavily dosed with PPD. This I have found on henna products in the market as well. Not thought of the black tea - will check it out. Thanks again.
I second that. Henna is a great choice, and actually improves hair condition. I use Rainbow henna, although I go from natural dark blonde/red to strawberry blonde. They do have very dark as well.
