Hi guys... I have been growing my hair for a year this month :) although I'm not quite sure what date to be exact... I'm really starting to see some results now (eg. I don't need to use gel and stuff like that anymore, which helped during the awkward phase) I think I'm just past the awkward phase now... plus this is the first time I grew it without getting any hassle from family, friends etc. I know it's not a great pic but it's all I could get at the minute... will try to post up some more soon.. the beard has been growing for a little over a year but I do trim it every now and again. I'm thinking about just letting it do what it wants this year. My inspiration for having long hair would be Jim Morrison & George Harrison my too favourite musicians :) anyway I've also just purchased Aussie shampoo and conditioner and I find it to work great on frizz, it smells great too... also I use jojoba oil on my beard, helps to keep it soft.. anyway any comments would be appreciated :) peace <3
I swear by Aussie shampoo and conditioner. I also use Aussie 3 minute miracle conditioner once a week to prevent damage.
Hi FI,
No problem with your photo as it's very clear and your hair is visible:)Sounds like you weathered the early stages of hair growth quite well as it only gets easier from this moment out.All I can say is avoid the trims and let nature take its course and you'll be fine. Both hair and beard look great my friend.Cheers

Thanks for sharing you update - some good progress and, I think, a great idea to let your hair do it's own thing. Natural is always best so try to avoid any harmful chemicals, heat etc. You do have a natural wave and colour to your hair which will look amazing the longer it gets. Keep us posted, Ian
FI, Great progress with your hair. Looking good!
Think your beard would look very nice without trims.
Have been letting mine grow out for about 4 months now.
peace, jonalbear
I would say you are definitely out of the awkward stage....looking good.....and I think your beard looks good trimmed, but certainly experiment with a long length to match your longer hair.
Thanks for Sharing

The hair/beard combo looks great. Letting it do its own thing for a whole year is a great idea. The results should be interesting.

Hi Fools Illusion,
Your hair looks to me to be pretty much the ideal type for growing it out mega-looooong!
It looks like you are taking excellent care of it, too!!
Anyway, I hope you continue to keep up with your excellent hair-farming practices, as you obviously have achieved excellent results so-far....
