My hair is wavy and reaches my shoulders. I don't know how long it's been since I had a haircut. I want to have it long enough for a ponytail but I'm not there yet. I am wondering why the end of my curls look weird. My hair is wavy so I used to get some curls. But right now my hair is still wavy but my hairs don't "lock" together like before. I guess they are looser. I'm new at this so that's why I want to know if this is bad. Is this what would be split ends?
Split ends are when you can look at your individual hairs start to split in half from the ends (also not something to worry about, all hairs do it). You're hair is just finally long enough to where it weighs itself down and pulls the curls straighter, so congratulations!
What exactly does that mean? So my hair is going to get straighter now?
Somewhat, yes. It won't turn completely straight, and the ends especially will always have more of a curl or wave to them, but as your hair weighs itself down, it will get straighter closer to your scalp.
