Hi guys. This month of February is now a full 4 years of my hair growing journey since my last haircut. My hair ends are in layers and are now just over 60cm long or 24 inches and still growing the regular half inch a month. 12 months ago it was 45cm or 18 inches. I stopped straightening my hair 27 months ago and now letting it grow in curly. Natural hair is better! I am very happy with progress so far and hope to reach 3 feet of hair one day! cheers, duncan
That's a great shot Duncan, and shows your natural waves and curls off a treat. Congratulations on the continued growth, it would certainly make a terrific avatar update. Regards, Ian
Thanks Ian. I agree with you that it would make an excellent avatar to replace the current one now about 3 years out of date!
cheers duncan
Hi Duncan,
What an excellent update, and thank you for sharing. You have such wonderful thickness, and I am glad that you stopped straightening, and are now embracing your natural waves and curls. You should have no problems achieving your goal of three feet of hair!
Keep it growing,
David
Hi David, thankyou for your kind comments and i have to agree that natural hair is better and it's taken me a good 40 years to make peace with my hair texture. Now that's it is longer the waves and curls are more manageable and I'm fully embracing it now, cheers, duncan
Looking good my friend !!

Thanks Walter. I'm glad that your found a dream job where you can just be yourself! cheers, duncan
Hi Duncan,
Thanks for sharing the update mate. You hair looks great and lining the natural waves. The beard is a coming great and a good addition. Keep it growing.
Cheers,
John.B
Hi John, thanks for the compliments on the beard it is now 9 months old since i stopped shaving. I may grow it out to a foot long in time! Very cold over in the UK and Europe so having a beard is a definate plus! cheers, duncan
Fantastic, Duncan! Your hair has enviable thickness and body to it. I'm glad you're celebrating its waviness and letting it do its natural thing. It's been great to get to know you here at MLHH and your hair is a true inspiration!
Thank you Jason for the comments I'd try not to get too swollen a head! I am now appreciating the thickness more then before now that the hair has grown longer and stretch out a bit more. I recently started using some Moroccan hair oil which i find is a lot nicer on the hair ends then jojoba and really makes a difference keeping the hair relatively free of frizziness. I'm hoping in time to grow it to belt length if it will get that far then trim it back gradually to a uniform length. I hope your new son and wife a doing OK and that your recovered from your recent sickness. cheers, duncan
Hey Duncan,
What an awesome update and kudos to you for both your current achievement and ultimate goal:)Your hair quality looks fantastic and good for you going natural and stopping the straightening.Your hair will thank you for that my friend:)Cheers

Hi Mark, I'm gradually evolving to better hair care and fully ditched the chemicals over 2 years ago! With longer hair length i have to adapt to learning new tricks in better hair care. Nothing gets between my hair now except the good wholesome products of nature, ie organic sulfate-free shampoos and conditioners. I'm now using Moroccan hair oil on the ends to better protect them as they are the oldest part of the hair and not wishing it to break off. I was tempted the other day to give hair colouring to my silver hair underneath but have yet to take the plunge! I know how awkward having a head of two different textures can be so might just decide to stay natural. I'm hoping to grow to classic length if possible one day. Thanks for your inspirational tips over the years along with your dry humour and wit. cheers, duncan
Wow Duncan, great looking hair there sir! Your hair has grown a lot since you have started your journey and thank you for sharing this wonderful update! :D Here's to more growing \m/
Hi Mark, Thanks for the compliments and I'm fully enjoying all the phases and milestones on the hair journey. Not knowing at this stage where it will all finish maintains the suspense! cheers, duncan
Outstanding update, Duncan. Congratulations on hitting the 4-year mark! The beard and smile are a great touch, as well... this would make an excellent avatar picture for you.
Take care,
Val
Thanks Val, cheers, duncan
Your hair looks great Duncan. Not to unlike my own.
Looking forward to updates at 60 months and beyond!
Glad you stopped straightening your hair.
Think it looks much better natural.
peace, jonalbear
Hi jonalbear, thanks and yes I agree that natural is best and learning to accept what i was given by mother nature. I have always admired your own mane and beard and hair combo look great on you. cheers, duncan

Your hair and beard look great together. Although straightening is somewhat shunned by most of us here, it probably helped you with the awkward stage. I see little, if any damage. You should reach 3 feet easily.

Hi Absalom, always great to hear from you and i value highly your remarks and tips on long hair coming from someone i think of as an informal unofficial long hair scientist and researcher. Well that's great news for 3 feet of hair growth potential, we're see what the next few years brings! cheers, duncan
Just awesome Duncan! Congrats on 48 months of growin'
After 7+ years of growing, I've finally got a few hairs reaching the 3 foot (91 cm) mark.
Onward and Downward!

Hi Oren,
Thanks for the compliments and I did get some value from viewing your website hair progress pictures over the years. Like you we have a combo of wavy/curly hair and it's interesting that no two heads of curly hair are ever alike! Hopefully I can grow to belt length but that is part of the excitement of the journey not knowing where terminal is just yet! I may be inspired to grow my beard to a foot in length. It is now 9 months since last shave and i think i will keep it as it seems to go well with the hair on top.thanks for the support. cheers, duncan
