I can't believe it's been a full five years (as of yesterday) since and scissors last touched my hair. I'm almost to waist length and should reach out in far less than a year. So much has changed in these 5 years.
A little life update since my last personal post: I've stopped communicating with my biological mother, who was one of the biggest naysayers of my hair and piercings and tattoos and whatnot, as well as just a mentally abusive pathetic excuse for a human.
I've started doing tattoos and piercings! I've pierced my own ears and lip, as well as plenty of steel going through others. I've done even more tattoos than I have piercings, the great on my hip is just one example of my work. I've decided that body modification - from piercings to tattoos to microdermals, subdermals, tongue splitting, elf ears, and everything else- is what I am going to do with my life. Until then, I'm working night shift in a warehouse, having long hair, and piercings and tatoos I want, and wearing whatever I want to work, and getting paid almost 14 an hour full time at the age of 18.
just thought I'd share a little about what's new in my life long with the hair update. I'll have a pic of the back too.
Happy growing,
Jarvis
Happy 5th anniversary of growing and what an outstanding mane you have to show for it!
That's cool that you have a job that won't bother you at all about your appearance. I'm sorry that your biological mother has been such a problem for you. Sometimes we just need to remove the toxic people from our life. You've clearly grown in many ways as a person over the last 5 years beyond just becoming a longhair.
Hey! I told you there was no text here!
Doing this from my phone, the picture wasn't sideways in my gallery so I didn't expect it to be on here
Looks awesome Jarvis!!!
peace, jonalbear
My haircare regiment:
I've gotten down to getting my hair wet maybe twice a week, using conditioner once every other week, and haven't used shampoo since December 31 (no new years resolution or anything like that, just happens to be the last time I used it)
Forgot to add, although I hate to admit it, I just got over having lice about a month ago. Got them sometime in september. As much as it sucked, being the hippie I am I just kinda left them alone. If I caught one I'd kill it, but I didn't go out of my way because honestly it didn't bother me that much. In january I noticed that I hadn't picked one off of myself in a few days and by now I'm pretty sure they're gone.
Just saying, don't need expensive products to get rid of them (if you can handle 2-3 months of an honestly minor nuisance)
Hippie 5th birthday to that gorgeous mane, Jarvis!
Looks fantastic.
As for your Mom - sorry it has to come to that, but one eventually has to change out these flat tires on their "tour bus" of life. Can't keep pulling over to patch em up forever!
The new ventures in body mod, tattoos, piercing, etc sound good.

thanks Oren.
Yeah, it does kinda suck that it had to come to that; but honestly I'm a lot happier and better off without her.
And yeah, I'm dead set on making this my career, no matter what it takes.
Hi Jarvis,
Thanks for the update and sharing the pics. You have come along way in 5 years and the hair looks amazing. Like you have a job it's not an issue to have longhair.
Hope all is well with you.
Cheers,
John.B
Thanks john, and yeah it's warehouse so I'm not around customers so it doesn't matter at all how I look! :)

Your hair looks gorgeous. Actually, you have reached waist length. (Your waist is at the height of your navel.) You reached this length in 1826 days. Did you start from a buzzcut? Belt length is not too far away. Height and genetics will affect whether belt length or knee length can be reached. Guestimating height can be tricky. The photo indicates to me about 5'8". Based on what I see, I predict that your terminal length will probably be about classic length. This can change with age. One of our members gained several inches in his 40s after several years of no length gains. Looking good.

Awesome!
From like 4 inches of hair.

Thanks for the kind words scott! I'm hoping for about classic length.
Hey Jarvis, your hair looks great!!!! Congrats on 5 years. Again, it looks great and I truely wish you the very best. Take care longhairedone Steve
Hi Jarvis,
Thank you for sharing your truly inspirational update with us, and congratulations on 5 years of growing! You have a mane to be proud of, and should have no problems growing it signifantly longer.
Keep it growing,
David
Thanks, David. I am proud of my hair. I don't know what I'd do without it. I'd be completely lost and I have no plans of keeping it at any length other than ALAP
Hey Jarvis,
Sorry to hear about the falling out with your Mom but maybe someday she'll come around and realize that "you need to be you" and not molded into someone else's vision of what you should look like. Why others get so uptight over someone else's personal preferences is beyond me as what is it to them anyway.
Moving onto your hair it looks FANTASTIC!Great color, length, and density:)I agree that growing it longer is the way to go.If I could I'd do the same.Cool looking tattoo and thanks to low rise jeans its possible to have one in that area:)Looks like you are on your way to some interesting body art.Cheers

Unfortunately it goes way beyond just not liking how I look and into much deeper things that no, she won't be back in my life. Ever.
Thanks, Mark. And that is definitely the plan lol. The tattoo looks a little worse close up and I'll definitely need to touch it up to be proud of it. I overlook and criticize every mistake I make and figure out what I did wrong so that I don't make them again. Like I said I'm dead set on this and learning as much as possible from every tiny mistake I make is a big help to my art.
Looking bad ass, Jarvis! Your waist length hair looks killer bro! Congrats on reaching that length :)
Thanks mark! Your 5 years is right around here too isn't it?
Congratulations on a major milestone...that is quite a change since your last avatar....impressive length and looks healthy.
Thanks for Sharing

Hi Jarvis,
Congrats on 5 years of growth - looking good and well-cared for :D ! Also, cheers on finding your life's path. I can't say I know much about elf ears :p , but knowing who you want to be and where you want to go in life is the most important. Of course, most often than not one's life path changes as one get older, but it sounds like you're off to a good start... keep it up ;) !
Sincerely,
yoshiki
