Any suggestions for templates and webhosting services, I already signed up for one but not sure what to do.
my previous hair growing site was

Well, the most obvious free hosting choices are Blogger/Blogspot, Webs.com and WordPress.com. WordPress.com definitely has the best template situation, since you have much of the vast amount of WordPress features and resources.
Then again, for this type of site you could go more with a social media situation, but the problem with many of those is they can't be seen my none-members. So I don't like using Facebook or Google Plus as one's main web space.
You have a number of options depending on what your preferences are. One of the best choices would be a bloggging site,
there are a number of choices out there, some of them are
free, and they are easy to set up, (Look at what Google offers.)
You can also set up something on live journal, set up a free web site (there are actually some free web sites out there).
The thing you have to watch out for is bandwidth. You get too
much traffic to your site and you'll get shut down or hit with
charges for the extra bandwidth.
I generally hate facebook, too many privacy issues.
If you do set up a site you should test it on various browsers,
try to keep it mobile friendly (yes people like me surf the web
on my Iphone 4s) and try to keep it simeple. Yeah you can have lots of fancy graphics/sound/etc. but those also run into
issues accross platforms. Remember not everyone is on window$.
And not everyone is on desktop with a huge monitor. Some like
me use an Iphone with a small 2" x 3" screen.
Hi Kenneth,
Not having the knowledge or training to build my own site from scratch, I've had good luck with the site builder at www.tripod.lycos.com . You can build a site for free (with advertisements on your page), or you can go ad-free for as little as $8 or $9 per month (which is what I've done). As an example, the link below will take you to the webpage I've built with it. It's nothing fancy, but it gets the job done. Good luck, and have fun with it :)

Check it out. Would love to see any IOS or other smartphone users put their input in.
Your hair is looking good and the site looks good on my iphone 4s.
The most important points to consider are your skill set and what you want to do. Are you more an artist or an engineer? How computer-savvy are you? Are you happy with whatever the site throws at your design, or do you want to do anything you friggin want (but no one is apt to hold your hand much when you do it). Sites range from giving you templates and putting you in a straitjacket to giving you nothing at all with all material 100% of your design.
I tend towards the "engineer but no artist" scenario and everything I put up works impeccably, but it may not be particularly pretty.
In either event, if you are serious get your own domain. That way, if your site's host goes belly up, you can just put your stuff elsewhere, rather than it all just disappearing.
I have so many pictures on it that most visitors would get lost if I had a cookie cutter interface. If you design your own pages, you can organize your material a lot better. However, this takes planning and thought.
Get set up so that the site challenges your abilities and accommodates your style, without pushing you too far. If the site is not exciting, you won't enjoy working on it. If the site is way too complicated for you, you won't enjoy working on it. Aim for the middle and your site will flourish.
Your pages don't have to look complex. Take a look at Google's home page and Facebook's home page. At first glance, one could dismiss these sites as there not being much there. But there is more on these two sites than any others on the Internet. Easy sites can draw users in. No one wants a jillion things to pick from.

I'm very happy with tumblr: easy to upload pictures, but also to write text using all the html you want, posting quotes, videos,... and many dozens of free templates to make yours look unique. It's perfect for me.
