well....as i mentioned last week, i've decided not to cut my hair again after shaving head 3 months ago and having a "normal" haircut 3 weeks ago.
So this is me....the top is longer than the sides but not going to make any attempt to even it out...in a year no one will notice anyway!
The one lesson i have learned is that my urge to have long hair will NEVER go away so why fight it?
Scott
Good luck Scott, looking better already! hope that urge to cut again never happens.
Thanks buddy....i appreciate the support, i do prefer my hair more as it gets longer now.
I've forgotten what haircuts were like! My last one was around 26 months ago and my hair is now officially BELOW my shoulder-blades - hovering around mid-back (longer than I realised until two girls at work pointed it out!).
Keep going, Scott.

Cheers Damon....hope i can catch up with you one day...looking good!
Scott
Hey there Scott! Your have a great head of hair to work with. I know how the urge to cut the hair feels like since I've done it myself a few times since I cut my long hair over 2 years ago. It took a few attempts until I decided to regrow it almost 8 months ago. If there is one thing I learned is that even during the dreaded awkward stage, there is a way to pull off a good look. Try new products, headbands, bandannas, caps, etc. These are all methods that will help you through the annoying transition phase. Imo it all starts balancing out at about 8-9 months. Anyway take care and good luck. Looking forward to your progress.
Isaac
thanks for your comments Isaac....sounds like you had similar problems to me!......i guess the secret is just for me to leave my hair alone from now on
Yeah man, best to "forget" about it and leave it be. If you ever feel that it looks bad just post a pic on here and i'll give you styling tips for that phase.
Exactly! Ditto! I bet you had awesome long hair. Happy growing!
Cheers buddy...it never got too long but it will this time round!.....i'm a longhair in spirit methinks! :)
" So this is me....the top is longer than the sides but not going to make any attempt to even it out...in a year no one will notice anyway"
Starting out from a "normal haircut" rather than a buzz cut is actually better, as the longer hair on top will help to balance out the look as your hair grows out. You can gel it or comb it back as it gets longer. Also the top hair needs a "head start" as one day you will be wishing to tie it back, and it will need to be long enough.
So definitely resist the urge to trim, and just get on with things! Before you know it you will have a new look, for free.
best of luck to you,
Andy
cheers Andy.....i appreciate your advice.....never thought about how the top needs a head start before...made me feel loads better thanks.
Scott
It sounds like you've truly come to realize you have a longhair identity and there's only one way that you can satisfy that! You have fabulous thick hair to work with. It's going to look crazy-good long!
too true.....it doesn't feel right to have short hair anymore......and the more i'm on this site the more i can relate to everyone here..feel like i'm talking to kindred spirits!
Scott, you look great and I'm happy to hear that even though you cut your hair maybe that needed to be done to make it crystal clear to you that longhair really meant more than originally thought. It happens to more than you might think.Glad you are enjoying the new journey and I will look forward to your future updates.Cheers my friend.

cheers hairball (Mark)
i really appreciate your support and i agree that it means more to me than i ever thought possible
Scott,
Normal haircut?? Misguided society has conditioned your mind (rather than your ends) a bit much friend. A normal haircut is letting your hair grow to its maximum length and just trimming the split ends. A normal haircut should never be thought of as taking off unnecessary length. Once you have massively long and beautiful hair you'll never think about short again as it will become an inseparable part of your consciousness, spirit and collective body. Losing my hair to me would feel like losing an arm at this point. You'll know what I mean once you reach hair my length.
Sincerely,
J.M.M.
I totally agree with your points, and nowadays I don't feel normal with short hair, I simply don't feel myself.
I am looking forward to letting my hair naturally do what it is made to do.....grow!..just as I grow.
Many thanks
Scott from Nottingham
Well, that's precisely why he put the word between quotation marks, JMM. To distance himself from the fact (it still remains a fact, however much we longhairs may beg to differ) that a normal haircut for a man in Western society is short. His quotation marks indicate that he himself does not consider it normal, but society does.
Hi Scott,
You really do have an excellent, and thick, head of hair to work with, and good luck to you on your long hair growing journey. I look forward to following your progress!
Keep it growing,
David
Thanks David
My hair is really thick so looking forward to seeing what happens over the next few months! :)
scott
It's a good start, Scott. I hope this time you resist and get it really long. I think long hair you'll fit your looks percfect. Good growing!!
thanks Walter...i really do plan to leave my hair alone from now on....and look forward to the results.
Thanks for your support...much appreciated!
