Hi all,
Well, two full years now since my last full haircut.... still continue to learn lots about having long hair since then :p . The new thing I've experienced lately is "sitting back" on hair. An interesting but nice feeling :D ~
Also feel pretty good overall about things over these two years - hard to believe it's been that long already. Some things still baffle me, though, like I still pull out about eight strands of hair each night I pull out my hair tie from a ponytail - drives me nuts >< ! My wife's watched me to try to figure out what's going on, but doesn't see anything wrong :/ . Says that I have weak hair compared to her Chinese hair :p - we'll put that to a contest later ^_~ .....
But it's a relief every month when I get a photo taken of the bak of my hair and to see that it's still there :p hahah! Not all that much to sweat about I guess ;) ~
So onto year three :) ! Everyone please have a great March and happy growin' ^_^ !!!
Sincerely,
yoshiki
Well done yoshiki! Congrats with your two year anniversary. Your hair looks awesome and very healthy. Thanks for sharing this, I just started my second year so at least I get an idea of what is to come. It's been a pleasure reading your posts.
cheers,
rowie
Hi rowie,
Thanks - sounds like we're right in this together ^_^ ! Is there any chance that we'll be seeing a full picture of your hair sometime in the future :D (just curious how you and I compare)? Also, you mentioned that your hair is pretty course in your first photo post. Which part of the world are you from :o ?
Sincerely,
yoshiki
It's even better when you have long hair flowing down your
back, it's a nice feeling have long hair flowing down your back
on a hot summer day when you're not wearing a shirt.
when it comes to "sitting back" on your hair there are
things like siting back on a chair/the car seat/etc. and feeling
your hair against the seat back. And then there is the sensation of sitting on your hair when it's longer than
waist length.
I use hair ties and have no strands of hair come out with it.
Maybe you're ties are too tight? Maybe you're ties are the wrong kind? The ones I use say they won't damage the hair.
Hi Long Hair In Albany,
Ahh, I'm looking forward to that day when my hair is that much longer :) !... and probably, I'll have to learn a whole new set of rules of taking care of my hair :D hahah! But that's ok, that's part of the fun o fit ^_~ . It's hard to believe how fast things change though, just like the passing of time :o !
Yeah, I asked about the hair ties a while ago - it seems like I'm wearing the right kind. They could be too tight. I've begun to wear my ponytail a little looser, but I don't know, maybe I'm just noticing it more because my hair is longer? Who knows :p .....
Thanks for the things to look forward to and the advice ^^ !
Sincerely,
yoshiki
Speaking of hair ties, I think I've found some that work better for me than the usual skinny ties. These are about .25 inches wide (6mm) and thus don't need to be stretched and twisted as much to keep the hair tight. When I do a bun a single round and twist is enough to hold it. Being wide they don't seem to get caught the hair like the skinny ones do. I got these at Dollar Tree, though they're likely available elsewhere.

Dale's Facebook Page
Hey Kansasdude, you wouldn't happen to know the brand of those hair ties, would you :) ???
Sincerely,
yoshiki
I still have the tag from them but all it says is " 12 Hair Elastics" made in China and imported by Greenbrier International, Inc. I figured for $1 they were worth a try and so far they're holding up much better than the thinner ones, probably because they don't have to be stretched as much to keep my hair in place.

Your hair is simply stunning! the color and waves are both fantastic. Can't wait till I get my hair that long so that my waves can finally look good.
Hey unrealxxx, thanks ^_^ ! Your hair will get there before you know it ;) . As time flies, so will your hair ^_~ (although I did notice with anticipation did come a little dragging of time :p ). Just enjoy life and before you know it, locks will be a flowin' and you'll say, where did all of that come from :p ???
Enjoy and good luck ^^ !
Sincerely,
yoshiki
We all shed. Pulling hair out with a hair tie happens to everyone.
Question though, I though you weren't posting a frontal pic because of your teaching career and students possibly using it against you and whatnot? Not meaning to pry, just curious is all.
Onward and downward!
Jarvis
Hi Jarvis,
Nah, I hear 'ya (and it's no career, being a teacher's assistant is pretty much as low as you can go ~_~ ). I knew someone would call me out on that one after being a bit of a butt-head last time explaining why I wasn't going to do it, then went ahead and did it. Well, there were three things that went into my decision:
One, I've think I've hid who I am pretty well (well, at least I hope I have), so what are the chances that someone from my school would come across me on this website? Hopefully much next-to-none ^_~ .
Two, you only get to live once :p .
And three, with the draconian budget cuts the state and school district is making, there's a 50% chance that I could get a pink slip at the end of this school year... and if I do, I don't even need to wait a second before my family begins a chorus of "Need to get a haircut in order to get a job". So, better enjoy what I have while I can ~_~ (hopefully I won't have to or won't be made to cut my hair). We'll see on that one >_> ...
So that's why I did it. Thanks for asking ^_^ !.....
Sincerely,
yoshiki
I was curious as well. You're probably right that just having an avatar here showing your face is pretty safe. Your website still only shows the back of your head. Cheers, man, for the reasons you listed. It is true you only live once and the dreaded job search thing really sucks. Let's hope you're not affected by it.
Thanks Jason :) . Well, at least my job search hasn't "officially" started yet - my evaluation will be here in a couple of weeks, so I hope I won't have do do one >< ... but the devil is in the details, so we'll see.
The one thing is true, this isn't Facebook ;) . If I could do it all over again, though, I would take back that one post (I wasn't too sincere in that one). I've learned that's why one must think twice before posting ^_~ hah! Anwyays.....
Sincerely,
yoshiki
Hi Yoshiki. An inspiring update showing the potential you have for much greater growth over the coming years. Colour and wave just sensational. We all loose an average of 100 hairs a day, so I don't think you have any worries there, perhaps if you hold the base of the tail while you remove the hair tie it might help a bit. Keep up the good work. Best regards, Ian
Hi Ian,
That 100 number is illusive... seems like the experts can never agree to how much we loose in a day to how much we have on our head at one time :p ... but if it is 100, I have nothing to worry about ~o~ .
With my curly hair, though, it is a bit of a hassle trying to get it out of a ponytail tie unscathed, but last night I think I might have figured out something :o . I'll also try your suggestion, thanks :) ...
I'll still be aiming for your length in the future - inspiration indeed ^^ !
Until next time, sincerely,
yoshiki :)
Im still a month short of my 2 years, but we're prety much the same length-wise. By the looks of it we even have a similar hair type, except your hair looks like it started strait then went wavy, where as my hair started curly - for lack of a better word - before going wavy
I cant say for sure, but I'm guessing that even the people at terminle length are still learning things about their hair
yeah thats probibly the type/size of hair tie your using, I use a thick, no-metal kind, & I cant even rembemer the last time I got hair caught in one
I know what you mean, I've been looking forward to my three years since last fall alrady.
Hi ArendJK,
That's kind'a hard to say. When I was a teenager, my hair was really curly but I grew out of it thankfully @_@ ...
Now-a-days, my hair is wavy, but it depends on how long and when it is comb as to how it looks. Just at the beginning of the awkward stage, my hair gets really bushy - doesn't look good ~_~ . Short looks fine. At this length it looks not too bad :) . When I first comb it at this length, though, it looks straighter then usual.
So it sounds like there are quite a few of us at the two year mark, huh ^_^ ? We should all start a "Two Year Club" here on the board or something :p heh. Onward to three for both of us ;) .....
Sincerely,
yoshiki
*envious of your shine*
Looking great, man! Perfect amount of curl in my book :-)
Hah, thanks Mick, you have the perfect amount of straightness and blondness in my book, too - a bit envious myself ^_~ .....
Sincerely,
yoshiki
yoshiki,
Nice(strawberry blonde)color and curl. Attaining nice length too! Great progress!
peace, jonalbear
Hi jonalbear,
You know, I've never considered myself a strawberry blond until you mentioned it - I always thought that I was a blondish-brown blah :p . Yesterday in the restroom I was thinking about what you had said and under the fluorescents I could see a sheen of strawberry :o - that really made my day :D ! Thanks so much ^^ !
Sincerely,
yoshiki
Spectacular color and curl! Amazing.
Congratulations!!
Joey
Thanks Joey, not looking too bad yourself ^^ !
Sincerely,
yoshiki
Great update photo and your hair is looking super.....nice color and texture.
Thanks for Sharing
WWT
Hi WWT,
Thank you for the kind compliments :) ! Congrats on your new job, by the way ^_^ - can only say that one would only have to be jealous of a job that looks to employ a longhair :D ! Must be pretty rewarding, too ^^ ~
Onto year three :D !
Sincerely,
yoshiki
It's almost intoxicating to see such consistent monthly progress and to notice the steady changes in the way it feels. As long as you're not using ties with metal in them, you're probably just picking up normally shed hairs.
Your site is looking good too! Glad your avatar is working properly. :)
Hi Jason,
Hah, I was trying to compare hair to an alcoholic beverage, but I was having troubles... saki was the closest I could come up with :D hahah!
I hope you're right about normally-shed hairs. Sometimes I do notice roots in them - that's why I've begun to wear my ponytail looser... no metal, but to see the long hair come out is like seeing progress go backwards ~_~ . Ah well :p ~
Also, thanks on the avatar. Yeah, I did notice that one little blooper that you mentioned, but maybe in the future with a few more members here and then there'll just be one in no time ^_~ ...
As for my website - hardly have had any time to work on it :( . My in-laws get here from China in a little over a week and their living quarters in the basement is still not finished yet :/ . My wife is working right now while I'm taking care of the little one, so panic is beginning to set in :p ~
When they get here to stay for four and a half months, that'll be interesting @_@ huh.....
Sincerely,
yoshiki
Very nice 2 year update! What happened to the ponytail section on your website? Keep it growing longer!
Hi Josh,
Mmmm, well, I felt like the ponytail section on my website was inconsistent, so I took it off >_> . Maybe in the future I might add it again once I'm able to do other things with my hair for examples or whatnot, but I figured I could post the monthly updates of the ponytails here for now if someone wanted...
I'll get one up for 'ya here soon :) . Just need a little time.....
Sincerely,
yoshiki
Hi Josh,
Here's the ponytail pic. I wore it a little higher this time to wear it a little looser. It's slowly going down, down, down, hitting in between my shoulder blades when up high now :D . When I have my shirt off, sometime I think, do I have a loose hair back there trying to annoy me? Nope, just my ponytail going back and forth when I turn my head :) .....
Sincerely,
yoshiki
Very beautiful wavy mane!!! The color is also very beautiful! Congratulations!
Hi Walter,
I like that - "wavy mane", has a nice ring to it :) . Thanks for the compliments ^^ !
Sincerely,
yoshiki
Hello yoshiki,
A wonderful two year update. The waves on the hair ends just want to go places! Keep it growing bro, it will just get better.
cheers, duncan
Hi Duncan,
It's true, the ends do want to go wherever they want @o@ , but the goofy thing is when I wash my hair, about two to four giant clumps combine together (I know that's probably nothing new, but-) to form giant spirals (or corkscrews) together. Goofiest darn thing I've ever seen :p . Luckily, once they dry, they comb out nicely - then go to wherever they want to ^_~ .....
Looking forward to the better future :D !
Sincerely,
yoshiki
Hi yoshiki,
What an excellent update, congratulations on 2 years of progress, and you have come such a long ways! I look forwrad to your future progress!
Keep it growing,
David
Hi David,
Thank you for your kind words :) ! I still think that the biotin that I'm taking is helping out, but have no proof...
Speaking of future progress, if I go for terminal or classic length (if I'm lucky enough >< ), I wonder how my wife would react :o ? Heh, I guess I can always try :D !
Please have a happy spring ^^ !
Sincerely,
yoshiki
Hi yoshiki,
Fantastic update and congrats on the two year anniversary:)I wouldn't worry about the shed hairs stuck in the pony tailer as I get that too at times.More than likely those hairs would have gotten brushed out had the hair band not gotten to them first.Anyway looking forward to year three my friend.Cheers
Mârk
Hi Mârk,
That's a relief, someone who has as much hair as you who has the same problem as me with hair getting caught up in the hair tie, then I guess I really do have nothing to worry about ^_^ (sympathy for the shed hair, though ^_~ ). Onwards and downwards to year three :D ! As long as I have my way - a longhair for life ^^ !
Sincerely,
yoshiki
