Hi everyone, I'm just posting this message to let everyone here know that I have created my own personal website, showing progress photos and more to do with my long hair journey.
I have spent the last full day working on it, it includes information about myself and why I chose to become a longhair and a progress page showing every monthly photo I have ever took of my hair since June 2010!
I have spent a considerable amount of time working on the additional features. It is very much inspired by Joao David's long hair site, but with some extra features that I hope you will all enjoy :)
You can sign up to my website, becoming a member which allows you to post in the Forum section, (another little feature I've added), where you can discuss anything hair related between members or guest's alike. This forum feature is very similar to what we have here at MLHH, but using a newer service.
Well, hope everyone has the time to take a look at my long hair site, wishing you all the best in the coming months.
Kind Regards, James
James K's Long Hair Journey
I just looked at your site, the first point i would suggest is
loose the dark colored font. i have a 22" high quality monitor
and find the site very hard to read.
In the mean time i'll look around and see if I can find a way to
read it.
Thanks Long Hair In Albany, I appreciate the suggestion, I've changed the font colour to a lighter tone, hopefully it is more readable than before.
Thanks again :)
Kind Regards, James
Thank you, that is much easier to read.
Hi James,
Just breezed through your site and it looks good for a start.MLHH is the longhaired guys working class board with not much in the line of bells and whistles!LOL.It gets the job done and you don't need a super computer to use it.If I recall correctly our member Bill Choisser once said you can have an old Windows 95 pc and be able to work the site.I'm sure your site will evolve into a more modern one which is cool.I'm sure many will be inspired by it's founder:)Cheers my friend.

Thanks for taking a look Mark, and thanks for the feedback :) As for the forum feature, by no means am I trying to replicate the Hyperboard or create a newer version of this site, my forum feature is more of an alternative, one people can use to discuss long hair topics If they wish. It was just a feature that was available when building my site, so I thought it would be cool to have my own forum for guests and members to post in If they wished.
Kind Regards, James
Hi again James,
Don't sweat it as I'm sure many boards have alternatives which is cool. It's not like we are competing for ratings;)Each site has it's own unique character and I'm sure yours will develope its own identity. You just being on it makes it worth a lookski my friend:)Cheers
Mârk
Thanks again Mark, I just wanted to make sure no one was offended or thought I was trying to take some of the glory away from this fantastic site. Like you said yourself, it is just an alternative that is there for any one to post in, and thanks for the compliments as always :)
Kind Regards, James
I think the more sites we longhairs start, the better. I would like to see our community grow and any increase in publicity is a good thing. If I had the time, I would create one too. :-)
The more long haired sites for men the better. Maybe all those
different sites will encourage more men to actually let their
hair grow.
Jann
Hi Jann,
Thanks for the kind words, I sure do hope my current hair growth rate continues well into this and next year, I have been very fortunate my hair has grown so fast.
Kind Regards, James
Looks great, James! The more long hair we can get on the Internet, the better!
Bill
Thanks Bill, I hope you noticed your fantastic FAQ on longhair in the links page :) I agree, the more the better! :D
Kind Regards, James
Yes, and thanks!
Bill
I like your site, James. Your hair growth is amazing, and is very inspiring.
Lee
Thanks for the compliments Lee, I hope to serve as an inspiration to future longhairs, even if only in the slightest :)
Kind Regards, James
I have posted on your guestbook but thought I should comand you here as well =)
Your site came along very nicely and I'm happy mine could serve you as inspiration. Thank's for mentioning me and my site!
Best of luck ^^
João David
Hi João,
Thanks for posting on both here and my guestbook wishing me the best in my longhair journey, and thanks for the kind words and compliments. Your site was truly an inspiration to me, it was one of the first long hair sites I stumbled upon when pondering the possibility of long hair on myself.
As for the mention, no problem what so ever, if it wasn't for your site, mine would have never existed :)
Kind Regards, James
Hi James and congratulations on your site. The more the long hair message is spread, the better! I hope you'll continue you contribute the this board as well. Good luck with your project, Ian
Hi Ian,
As always thanks for the compliments and the good luck wishes for my project, it is much appreciated. I have no plans to stop contributing here at the Hyperboard, my website is more a catalogue of my journey so far, one which I can share with others who are thinking or are in the process of growing their own hair out.
Kind Regards, James
It's clear you put some real effort into your site. It's got a great layout and easy navigation. I'm sure it's going to be an inspiration to many growers.
I had a hair history site for quite a few years. It was fun to keep up and I enjoyed being able to trace my exact progress and see where I was at any point in time with just a click.
It sounds like you have a goal of terminal length. I look forward to watching you on your journey.
Thanks for the great compliments Jason, I spent a whole day constructing the site, so hopefully it is acceptable for most Internet viewers across the globe.
I remember your original hair site, It was fantastic, as is your new Blog, I agree on the tracing of progress and having one's long hair journey at the click of a button.
You are right in assuming my goal is terminal, I look forward to having your company as I carry on with my journey :)
Kind Regards, James
(p.s. If you want me to add your Blog site to my Links page I will be more than happy too, I'll leave the decision to you :) )
Thanks about my sites.
Sure, that would be great if you'd add my blog to your Links section. Would you like me to add your site to our Links section here at MLHH?
I would be honoured If you would add my site to the Links section here at MLHH. Every long hair resource we can find is a great contribution to getting the word out :)
I'll be sure to add your Blog to my Links page now :)
Kind Regards, James
Thanks James.
I have added your link to our section.
Hi James,
I was enjoying your new site so much because it's just stunning to see how fast your hair grows :o ! Great progress pictures all the way from the beginning :D ! I like the layout of your website, so simple to use and navigate :) . Very personal, also. Hard to believe it took just a day to make :o !!!
Would it be all right if I added a link to your website on mine ^_^ ? The more, the better :D !
Sincerely,
yoshiki
Hi yoshiki, thanks for the compiments, It would be great If you added my site to your own under the links page, I'll place a link to yours on mine if you want aswell? :)
Kind Regards, James
Hi James,
Sounds good to me :D ! I would love to have mine added to yours and I'll have yours added to mine tonight ^_^ ! Keep up the good work ^^ !
By the way, I'm a drummer, too... been one for about 21 years now - have always loved it :) ! Marching in my University's Marching Band and in the Rose Bowl was the highlight of it all ~_~ .....
Sincerely,
yoshiki
James , Your hair is looking mighty fine these days!
peace, jonalbear
Thanks as always Jonalbear, your comments are very much appreciated :)
Kind Regards, James
Do you do anything specific to give your hair that much body, or is it just naturally like that? Looks great!
Dave
Hi Dave, thanks for compliments, my hair really is that big naturally, it's a right pain at times haha, but I like it's thickness, adds some character :)
Kind Regards, James
Hello James,
I have checked out your new website and see it seems to run on a similar software layout to Joao's original site. I congratulate you on your new venture and look forward to regularly seeing your own photo progress. Joao's website along with Jason's were of invaluable help and inspiration in the early stages of my own personal journey to longer hair. I wish it every success. I have hair that is as thick as yours and can well relate to having hair that is fine and prone to tangles and knots galore! I think in years to come you will realise how lucky you were to have inherited very thick hair when young as you have what i call hairs in reserve as our hair naturally thins out when we get older. Your own hair is definately one of the more outstanding manes of hair I have seen and will look really kickass when it gets to classic length.
Best wishes,
Duncan
Hi Duncan,
Thanks for checking out my new website, and thanks for the great compliments towards it, being it is still very much in the early days and I'm still trying to get to grips with the website building software. I hope my site helps inspire many future longhairs for years to come, fingers crossed! :D Ever since I found this site I recognized your hair type immediately from being almost identical to my own, and I can completely relate back to what you said. It's a nightmare taming such thickness, but I am grateful to have it as it gives my hair extra character and hopefully some future defense against thinning! :D Tangles and knots are just a regular occurrence for me, I've gotten used to the daily turmoil haha :P
Thanks for the compliments towards my hair, I hope it will look awesome when I reach classic length, let's see what the future brings! :)
Kind Regards, James
Hi James,
Congratulations on such an outstanding job with your website, which will serve as an inspiration to others in their own long hair growing journeys. You are blessed with probably the thickest hair on the planet!
Keep it growing,
David
I've thought about doing this myself. I've been growing my hair for five years but I guess it isn't too late to start doing progress photos. Awesome site (and hair), by the way.
