Well after first doing my hair in henna last August and doing followup treatments afterwards I have to say it looks like six to seven weeks is when I feel a redo is needed. This time I did the full treatment of all my hair instead of just at the scalp.Basically it still looks fine after that time frame but my center part looks like a gray line on the top of my head.lol.Also my beard just about has lost all its henna color due to trims to keep if from getting too bushy. So I'm posting this pic of my hair this morning as I did the treatment yesterday.I know its a lot of work to keep it looking prime but I love the look.At least I'm not wasting money on haircuts so instead I invest it into the Henna.Anyway for any of you considering going this route, if you don't mind the time and effort to do and maintain it, I feel its worth it.Maybe you young guys who still have nice color might not want to deal with it but for me my hair was not in its prime anymore color wise I felt.Anyway thanks for reading and hope you all are having a good weekend.Cheers

Awesome smile! hair and beard looks great Mark!

Hi JB,
Thank you for the kind words on this pic that I apparently look a bit
crazed in:) HeHe.That's ok as long as everyone can overlook that expression;)
Hope you had a fabulous weekend my friend.Cheers
Mârk
Quality pics, Mark. The second has you looking a bit crazed, however, that's not a bad thing. Love your attitude about ...life in general. Hope to meet up with you someday.
Hey Rktect,
I thank you for those kind words on my pics:) Yea I might have been a bit
punchy on that second pic or maybe it was the morning java kicking in.lol. I do
try and take life in stride as getting uptight is bad for the body and hair;) It would
be cool to meet someday maybe at some car event perhaps?Until then we have
this great forum to keep in touch with.Cheers my friend!
Mârk
I like the pics, Mark. Your hair looks great!
Lee
Hi Lee,
Thank you for the thumbs up as I take a lot and select the few that
I think look good.I don't feel I photograph all that well so thanks to digital
photography it's much easier than in the olden days:)Cheers
Mârk
Looking good, Mark! The henna dye looks bad ass on you good man! :) I dyed mine with burgundy henna dye and the color is epic I have to say! :)
I saw your pics Mark and the length + henna are AWESOME!You've got nothing to complain about as you've done well in the hair department my friend:)Cheers
Mârk
Hey Mark,
The color looks great on you! In your photos it looks like you are smiling with your whole being, and that's great to see, and it made me smile, of course!
Joey
Hi Joey,
I'm happy my smile made you smile also:)Seems like the world could use a bit more of happiness but I do thank you very much for your input my friend.Cheers

Hi Mark,
Looking as "Henna" as ever ^_^ ! Someday I'd love to give it a try -will just have to see ^_~ heh.....
Sincerely,
yoshiki
Hi yoshiki,
Well it is a little bit of work but I really like the results of using henna:)If you do choose to color your hair I think its the best way to go.I would not have done this if I had to go the chemical route. So who knows, maybe someday you'll get the urge too my friend.Cheers
Mârk
Hi Mark,
I hope you didn't get me wrong (or vice-versa ^_~ )... I totally like your henna red :) ! Actually, I'd like to try indigo someday, but the actual question for me is someday for various reasons, unfortunately :/ (wife included). Ah well, maybe someday ;) .....
Sincerely,
yoshiki
Hi yoshiki,
No offense taken as I'm sure there are lots of guys who would like to color their hair but not want it red like mine.Mark S., a member here, has done henna with indigo and I know dee has said he blends his too as his hair isn't red.So just go with what feels right for you.I'd say you have great natural color so why mess with it at this juncture my friend:)Cheers
Mârk
Lookin' good, my friend !
Walter
Hi Walter,
Well I took the gamble and got lucky I guess.I knew from the first treatment if I didn't like it I'd be stuck with it to an extent.I know if I choose to in the future I could tone down the redness by mixing other natural dyes in with the henna. Our friend dee does that which is why he doesn't have the really red hair.Hope you had a nice weekend my friend.Cheers
Mârk
Looking good, Mark.
No grey hairs myself but I've been tempted to dye my hair an exotic colour like bright red, green or blue at times. However, I've discovered all sorts of colours (tinges of blond and red) in my natural boring dark brown colour since growing my hair that I never knew I had before. It was kind of fun to find them so I'd be loathe to hide them now.
Damon
------------------------------------
Hi Damon,
Well at your age you shouldn't have to worry about grays and such as I didn't really have all that much of it in my hair either but my beard was another story. That's cool you have other natural hues already in your hair so coloring may not be necessary unless you want a radical color.Just be careful of damage should you go the chemical route.Cheers my friend.
Mârk
I'd never go the chemical route now - after seeing what it did to a friend of mine (who dyed his hair bright green and ruined it so much he had to get it shaved and start over again). After reading all the advice here, I'd go with a henna blend.
Have you thought about experimenting with different colours? Blond or darker brown?
Damon
------------------------------------------
Very wise decision not to dye with chemicals and too bad your friend
had to learn that the hard way.
Possibly in the future I may decide to blend another natural dye in with
my henna should I feel that I'm tiring of the red but right now I love being a
redhead:)Some guys blend in indigo or buxus for a different shade. So there
are options should you want to experiment.Anyway I'm glad your enjoying
being a longhair as it does look great on you my friend:)Cheers
Mârk
Hey, it sure works for Rupert Grint. He's a chick-magnet! :)
Damon
-------------------------------------------
Ha ha, I believe some people actually think I'm a natural redhead!Well the henna is natural so in a way they may be correct:)

Your hair is gorgeous, Mark. That red color is super intense. I have thought about trying henna, but it would be just too much hassle for me. Even my weekly washings are a major project for me.
Scott
Hi Scott,
In a way I don't blame you as your hair is extremely long and applying
the henna would be quite a project. As long as your satisfied with the color
and texture why make that kind of commitment. My hair length is tolerable
for putting henna into it and now its really a breeze doing so as I've had enough
practice.Still it looks like I'll be doing this every seven weeks just to keep
everything looking nice.Oh the things we do for our hair!lolCheers
Mârk
Love the color! Is it Yemen henna that you used? Cute mini shorts, I could never pull that off like you.
cheers,
rowie
--------------------
Hi rowie,
The box said the henna was from Pakistan but they also had other
henna that was from Yemen. The online store I bought from was very cool
with lots of cool stuff to purchase. As for the shorts I just wear them around
the house as I'm not brave enough to go out in public with such short shorts!lol
Just wouldn't be able to deal with the attention I'd likely draw to myself;)Cheers

Hi Mark,
Fiest of all, my apologies for the late reply, just wasn't on the computer much yesterday.
Your henna really did come out well, and the colour is awesome. Your hair really does look good.
I do admit that it would be a bit too much work for me, though!
Take care,
David
Hi David,
That's ok about your reply time as I do look back days later when I'm online to check responses.I really like the look of my hair and beard just after the treatment. After doing this for the last six months I've found by week seven it's time for a redo. The cool fact is I can literally see how much new growth I've achieved since the last treatment because its not colored like the older hair. With that said I know my hair continues to grow but I can't explain why I don't gain more length unless it's just due to breakage.I know its a lot of work but you just need to set aside the time for it.Anyway hope all is well with you and that your enjoying the same nice weather I'm having here:)Cheers
