Hi everyone,
I’ve been growing my hair for the last year. I last had my hair cut on March 9, 2011, and I immediately regretted it. I had grown my hair since July 2008, although I did have some length cut off in July 2010. This time there will be no cutting at all. As you can see, I’m currently in the awkward stage, and I’ve become very used to it over the last three years. From my last experience, I think it could be another year before I’m really out of it. My goal at the moment is at least mid-back.
I’ve visited MLHH for several years now, and I've found it to be a great source of help and inspiration, although I very rarely posted here until very recently.

You're where I was in 2008. My hair's super long now (I just posted a picture under "High school/university students with long hair"), so if you just hang on it'll get there.
The hardest part is getting it long enough to tie back. After that it's a breeze lol.
How old are you? That picture is from the summer between 10th and 11th grade, so by the time I graduated it was REALLY long.

Thanks for the encouragement. I saw your picture, and your hair and its length are very impressive. I can tie back almost all of my hair. The hair that can't quite be tied back sits behind my ears. I'm 21, by the way.

Hi Lee, and thanks for sharing your progress. You have good thick hair that will grow well and I'm sure you will reach you goal - and beyond. With the natural wave it will certainly look very good on you. Just keep away from those scissors! Good luck, Ian

I have to admit if that's the awkward stage then I'm surprised anyone would throw in the towel when growing out their own hair.You have the potential to have a phenomenal mane my friend:)I'm glad you are posting now but some guys do like to lurk before taking the plunge.Obviously by now you know we don't bite;)Cheers to you!

Your hair looks great so far, It actually looks quite similar to mine when mine was that length, similar colour as well :) Keep it growing, the longer it gets the better it will look. Check out my website for progress pictures to judge for yourself the similarity between our two hair types :)
