Thanks Mark, much appreciated
Hello Ian. Yovr hair is amazing and is growing at a rapid pace. Just imagine what it will look like in another year. How do you usually wear your hair Ian? You should try a braid sometime. Keep on growing old geezer. Just kidding Ian.
Hi Rick, and thanks for your comments, I usually wear it loose, and sometimes in a pony tail - pic attached! I've not tried braiding yet, perhaps when it get a bit longer.
Cheers, ian
Ian,
Your hair looks fantastic. Maybe we should have a "geezer" contest. Bet we would have quite a few contestants!
peace, jonalbear
Wow, a geezer contest, that would be quite something!
This old fart says that old geezer looks pretty darn good!
Bruce
Thank you Sir Flatulence!
Hi Ian,
It's always great seeing your updates, they really are inspirational, I feel I can relate to your progress as I am at about the same length, and we both joined this board around roughly the same time. Your hair is awesome, I like the texture and the colour the most buddy :)
Thanks for sharing as always :)
Kind Regards, James K
My Long Hair Website
Thanks James, You represent one of the the younger generation of longhairs, I much admire your mane and appreciate your comments. I know that you will continue to inspire all those who want to grow their hair in the future.
Ian,
Awesome, as usual, my friend!
Steve
Thanks Steve, your hair, and resolve has been an inspiration.
That looks fantastic Ian and you should be well proud of such a mane. Nice and full and with the perfect v-shape. :-) And "Olde?" No way. Still a kid compared to me. All the best-
Justin~
Justin, you say the nicest things!
Wish everyone thought that. LOL :-)
Really though, you have such magnificent long hair.
Justin~
Thanks Jann, and you're right, my hair is layered from my last cut in January 2011!
Nice V-shape. Do you trim it that way or is it entirely natural?
Damon

BTW, Ian. How long have you been growing your hair from a short cut? I noticed it was already long when you joined MLHH (http://www.mlhh.org/messages/289024.html).
Have you had it long for years? Or was it a fairly recent decision?
Damon
-----------------------------------------
Hi Damon, thanks so much, and in reply, the shape is natural as I haven't had any sort of trim since January 2011. I did have long hair back in the 60's which was quite acceptable as I worked in the media industry. I had it cut short in the late 80's where it hovered just over my collar! I lost a lot of hair four years ago after some intensive radio and chemotherapy and about 18 months ago, decided that I would try to grow it out again but continued with trims till January 2011. When I joined MLHH it was a couple of inches over my collar.
Thank you for the insight, Ian. I can easily understand your decision to grow your hair long again after the trauma of four years ago! You have such good thick healthy hair and it must have been very therapeutic to grow it out even longer than before - and with such resounding success. Your hair has such a nice natural V-shape too.
It must have been awful to go through those treatments four years ago. It's good to see you looking so well now.
Damon

You have such great color, Ian. I don't think you're a geezer, but when I'm a geezer myself, I want to be a long haired one, because that's definitely the very best kind! : )
Cheers,
Joey
Hi Joey, you have many years to go before you can become an "old geezer" Just keep that hair growing!
Your mane looks great, Ian. In not too long you will have waist length hair. I know you are older than me, but you don't look it. Asians tend to look much younger than caucasians of the same age. I am making an educated guess, you are Japanese?
I am probably the oldest here with knee length hair. I am 59. Your hair looks like it could grow well past your waist.
I have noticed that (at least in my case) that gray hair is of higher quality than the original coloured hair. My few gray hairs on my head are coarse and very strong. They tend to be tougher. Do you notice that too?
Anyway, I am rambling too much. Keep that mane growing. Old age should never be a reason for us to cut our hair. Long hair forever.
Scott
Asians tend to look much younger than caucasians of the same age.
Why is that Scott? Please enlighten me. According to Jacques Derrida, European men retain their youths when you look into their eyes. In a way, when I look into your eyes through your photos, I can still see the young you(I could imagine what you must of looked like as an infant), like you have never changed. In many parts of Asia, looking into someone's eyes is a way for us to tell or guess someone's "age."

From past guestimates, I nearly always under estimate the ages of asians. That speaks for itself.
Scott
Good answer! Yet again, your replies makes me smile.
-rowie
Thanks for you comments Scott, I don't think I could make it down past my knees like your great mane, but I'm certainly aiming for at least waist length. No Japanese is me! As far as I know, very much Angle Saxon. I just think genetics have been kind enough to enable me to still have long hair growing at 68! and I think you could be right, grey hair does seem to be fairly strong. Best regards, Ian

You have a really nice hair texture! Is your hair straight with slight waves? Or what is your actual hair texture, or what would you classify it as. Looking at your photos it looks to me that you have a variation of waves mixed in with straight hairs. For me, I thought you were British. But then again, a lot of "Angle Saxon" are from mother Britain, and other parts of Europe. Have a nice day Ian, and it is always a pleasure to read your posts.
best,
rowie
Hi Rowie, You're right - British! As for the texture, well fairly coarse I suppose, a bit of a wave here and there, but pretty straight on the whole. Best regards
Hi Ian,
Your hair really does look fabulous, and grows quickly as well! I am jealous about your fast growth rate, and you should have no problems growing it well past your waist.
Keep it growing,
David
Thanks David, here's hoping!
Looking great my friend! Your hair is growing pretty fast too I see. :D
Thanks Mark - it's the Essex (h)air!
Hi Ian,
Nice update! Your hair is excellent and has great length.
Lee
Thanks Lee
Looking superb Ian!
Onward and Downward

Cheers Oren!
Hi Ian,
As always, hard to believe how fast your hair grows... wish I knew your trick :o ! Great inspiration :D ! Wouldn't be surprised if your hair hit floor-bottom by the end of the year >_> .....
Sincerely,
yoshiki
By the way, saw your entry a day or two ago - thanks ^^ !
Thanks Yoshiki, I think it's easier to show gains in length when you have pretty straight hair like mine, your curls just tend to curl back up, but nonetheless look just great. Best regards!
