Hey there guys, I've read a bunch of articles lately about how conditioning the hair can lead to it getting greasy and oily faster. I usually wash my hair w/ Mane N Tail shampoo and conditioner every other day. Is that too much conditioning? My hair is naturally pretty oily which is why I wash it 3-4 times a week as opposed to 1-2 times.
I have noticed lately, if I condition every time I wash, it gets greasy by the next day or so. I am aiming at conditioning it once a week, and so far it's been far less greasy.
Nah. Conditioning after shampooing is just giving back some of what the shampoo stripped off. As a golden rule, keep conditioner away from your scalp and keep shampoo away from your ends, and you're good!
I shampooed a few hours ago w/o using conditioner for the first time in at least a year. I'll let you know how it goes.
No!
Hi UnrealXXX!
I used the mane & tail conditioner for a few months, and I think it's a good product, but too heavy for my hair. I liked that it gave my hair a deep conditioned result, but it also left my hair heavy and flat. I bet guys with very thick hair might best benefit from Mane & Tail, my hair is too fine for it.
I switched to a lighter conditioner that leaves less residue (by Trader Joe's) and got much better results.
You might just want to experiment with other, preferably silicone free, conditioners to see what works better for you. My hair got greasy quickly after using Mane & tail, which is unusual, as my hair and skin are naturally on the dry side, so I know it was the wrong product for me.
