Update: 12 months - frontal without pony tail.
Great pics, Thgey show some wondergrowth and progress. I just celebrated my 2 years of growth. I love the wave and color. You have a great head of hair.
Great going for the 1st 12 months and your "Awkward Stage" actually looks fantastic! Most guys have such a fit over this stage. You will be amazed at what the next 12 months brings. Thank you for sharing the photos.

My 12 months of progress can be seen in the link below. I've been getting on well, thank you. I've grown my hair out for a couple of years before, so I'm used to it. I would also love to get to terminal length. For the time being, my goal is mid-back, but I'm sure I will increase that goal when I get there.

That's cool, dude! You and I share the same date as to when we had our last haircut: Mar. 9, 2011.
Your hair looks great. How short did you have it cut back to on Mar. 9, 2011. I had a guage 4 buzz cut as can be seen in my avitar.
How do you handle the awkward phase? The hairs in the front of my head are not quite long enough to reach to the back of my head to get caught in the tie forming my ponytail. I don't mind the natural look and feel of my hair, however, I try to keep it looking neat and professional. I want to present myself well and I don't want to contribute to a bad reputation for myself and my brother longhairs that a man with long hair is unkempt and undignified.

Apologies for my delayed reply.
My hair was cut to a longer length than a buzz cut. I've never had a buzz cut. The back and sides were shorter than on top. The hairs at the front of my head would just about go down to the middle of my nose if I pulled them down.
For the awkward phase I just tried to keep it looking as tidy as possible whilst it grew. I used and still do use a wide tooth comb. I didn't use any special products, and I didn't try restraining it or wearing a hat. I did try different shampoo and conditioner routines. I've now settled on using them once every three days, although I'm still not sure if that's the best routine for me. I've also noticed that the hairs on the front of my head are not quite long enough to be put in a tail. They can be tucked behind the ears though. I haven't started tying my hair back yet, but I plan to buy some hair ties soon. I also try to keep my hair looking neat, although it can be a bit hard. I hope that as my hair gets longer it becomes easier to control.

Congrats on a year of growth! You have beautiful hair, and it will only get better from now on :) Your hair is longer than mine now that i keep it short-ish.
