OK guys and gals,
Been watching Charlie, my Mom's Yorkie while she is recovering from surgery. I seem to be quite amazed a major battle isn't breaking out. Charlie quite surprised too. Snugglebert quite aloof and indifferent because he knows he has the upper "claw" in the whole situation.
peace(for now), jonalbear
I have two cats and two dogs and they have always gotten along just fine. I don't think the two species are the natural enemies we've been led to believe.
I think cats and dogs are subject to the same kind of stereotyping we longhairs are.
I think you are right Michael. Charlie and Bert get along well together and seem to sense when visitors are around and then put on the adversary schtick! They even share a lap sometimes.

Aw, yorkies are the best. I have two.
They've always gotten along very well with their cat whenever they've stayed with my brother's family, and they seem to be the most cat-like of small dogs. Independent, aloof, and most of all, very lazy couch potatoes! One of mine loves to hop up on top of the back of the couch and has a nap there when I'm not home (I watch them when I'm not there via network cameras, so I know.) Charlie looks like he's settled right in.
Have fun,
RD
RD,
Charlie seems like he is almost jealous when Bert is on my lap so he makes a fuss and tries to intercede.

I have a peacock (named Mozart) who thinks he is a cat....plays with kittens, even lets them crawl over his back !!
--------------------
That is a gorgeous bird, Walter. Due to his size, he should be safe even when your cat reaches full size.
Scott
Beautiful creatures you've got there.
Ha ha, that peacock is awesome!!!
Hmmmm, they do make a cute couple:)That's interesting the peacock lets the kitten crawl onto him.The obviously trust each other.

Walter,
Cool coexistence between your pets.
Some of us humans should take lessons from them.

I have no pets at the moment. I used to be the proud owner of a tarantula and a giant black African millipede along with several praying mantises.
Ah,Lower maintenance pets. Cool!
peace, jonalbear
I loved it, they were nearly 100% free. Millipede ate essentially trash (carrot peels, watermelon skin etc...) and in summer we get alot of good sized moths around here so just go out with a fishnet and catch a few and the others stay fed.
