I thought it would be fun to start a poll in this site. Since this is a long hair site I'm wondering what is your ultimate goal length? By ultimate hair goal length, I mean at what length would you want to maintain at.
I'll start this first. I Choose option J) As long as it gets! I want to see how long my hair can grow, so I do not have a particular hair goal I'd like to maintain at. I could say that I want to find out where my "terminal" length is, but I just don't like that word "terminal."
a) Shoulder
b) armpit length (APL)
c) Mid back length (MBL) or Bra Strap Length (BSL), I think in this site most of you refer to it as nipple length (NL)?
d) Waist
e) Hip- in this site the equivalent I think is Belt length (BL)
f) Tailbone
g) Classic (past the butt)
h) Knee
i) Floor
j) As long as it gets!
Right now i'd say waist length. During the 80s I had hair that was knee length, that was too long to deal with. Right now
it's 9" above waist length, i'm not sure if that is now my
terminal length, or if got that length through damage to the ends.
I'm 57 years old, started growing my hair long in 1964.
For now, I'm going to go with:
I can't see myself going to belt length, frankly, but who knows how I'll feel in a year from now...

Here is how long my hair is. This "stock photo" is 5 or 6 years old, but my hair is the same length now.
I wish it would reach mid calf length. At 59 years old, I don't think it ever will.

My sister did find a set of rainbow snag free pony ties, 12 colors to be exact, and she gave me the set you see in this pic. Leave it to my sister to be so generous. :-) It is a thinner version of your pony ties.
I guess now I can experiment and make new styles. Honestly, I don't have use with the girly colors in this set LOL, but that is just me. Maybe if I ever get to your length I'll do the same hairstyle you have in your avatar, that is if I'm bold enough to do so. Have a good night! It's a pleasure to read your posts.

Those are really nice, Rowie. Rainbow hair ties are extremely difficult to find. I have a dwindling supply of the soft cloth type. They wear out quickly. I need to get some of those like you have.

Okay, maybe the pink ones are the hardest to pull off, but I bet they work great with a pink t-shirt or a pink button-down shirt.
Where did you find those? I only have black ones for now...
Sorry for the late response. I've been away for the past few days. Anyways, I just asked my sister and she told me she bought them at Claire's Boutique. LOL So if you are brave enough to go in there, then kudos to you..

Sure, I don't care :-) And Claire's actually came to Belgium last year, so good timing!
Those are the type of rainbow hair ties I use. The soft cloth type are hard to find.

my eventual goal is waist length, though i would be happy first at nipples, then at mid=back.
I would like to aim for d if possible :-)
I like the idea of (I), but all said and done I'll probably stop around (A) or (B).

My ideal choice is c) Mid back length (MBL)
I definitely want my hair a bit past my shoulders, but my hair type is fine, so I'm not sure if it will look it's best if I grow it any longer than that. It's more important to me that my long hair looks healthy and well maintained, than the actual length. I also am a bit concerned about maintaining it at mid back length - it seems challenging to me right now! My hair is just slightly touching my shoulders now,and it seems to me like a lot of work to care for already, but I do think it's absolutely worth it!
My goal right now is for waist length (d). I'm just now reaching shoulder length, so I have a long ways to go. Hell I didn't think I'd ever get this far, so I'm hopeful I can achieve my goal.
My hair is currently somewhere between a: and b: so I might let it get to c: and then decide. I have very fine hair which is easily damaged so any longer would probably be out of the question.

I'm giving my hair another year to grow, then I'm going to go with either:
if I choose to maintain a length, or..
if I don't
It would have to be between B or C for me. Being that my hair is wavy it looks bad if it's shorter. I think it will look nice and balanced at the armpit or nipple length.

My hair is getting to that stage now but I don't think I would want it longer. I personally think hair much longer than that looks attractive on only a few people.
In fact, I might trim my own hair back to just below shoulder-length after achieving MBL. I'd rather have volume than length.

Mine is just now reaching nipple length. I'd say I'm gonna give it about another inch or two.

(f) would be nice, but I seem to be stuck between (c) and (d).
g) past the butt & then see how much longer it will get ... a journey of discovery = indeed !!!
