Hey everybody, long time no see... Still lurking, but as I started college this year, it's getting tougher to find some time. As some know, I'm no more a longhair, as I cut it in January. I plan to grow it back as a big blond mop (yes, my curls grow on the way up lol), but I think I'm seeing a little bit of breakage. I use a kids' dilluted shampoo and a cheap brazilian conditioner, which has no silicones in it, so it does not clog the strands. Thing is, my hair has about 1 inch on the sides and the back, and about 2 inches on top. No tangles, snags, so how the breakage ended there? Lol, i'm probably going to even it out this week, maybe it's just old growth, and as to coconut oil, is it safe to use on short hair? Does it smell bad after 2~3 days, and, will it melt on rain, or stuff like that, and make a big mess?
I thank you guys in advance, and glad to see the manes still growing out here. A dear hug to all of you who has the courage of being yourselves. We know that sometimes it's very tough.

It won't hurt short hair, but I really doubt that you need to use coconut oil. You most likely need to use a good quality conditioner every time you wash your hair.
