Hi there,
Hope everyone is ok?
It's been a long time, but I haven't forgotten about the board.
I've been traveling through Australia and New Zealand the last 4 months and I had an awesome time. Everything went so fast and it's almost time to go back home. I will have a short break and go on my second trip cycling through scandinavia.
Was very easy to have short hair during the trip, since I've done some scuba diving on the great barrier reef, been in the ocean a lot and so on. I don't want to know how my hair would have looked going through all that abuse.
I ended up buzzing my head a second time on the first of january, but have been growing my hair back since then and it's come a long way in three months! Almost time for the awkward stage but love my hair, been playing a lot with it now it's possible again.
I've included a picture, where I was walking in Noosa National park a few days ago.

Hello Vincent,
Welcome back. It must be nice to travel and do many adventures. I envy you. Nice growth considering that it has only been three months of growth from a buzz cut. Do you plan on growing you hair long again? If so, what is your new goal length? I hope all is with you, and have a safe trip.
peace,
rowie
Yes, I love traveling. It's the first time I'm traveling on my own and this long so it was a bit hard in the beginning but I love it. If you want to travel just do so, if it's not possible to do it for a long time just take short trips!
I will probably grow it long again, I don't really have goal just as long as I like it. Last time I did that I ended up growing it to my butt so I won't be surprised if it ends up there again. Let's say for now my goal length is shoulder length.
Hi Vincent,
I'm going to take a big risk of speaking very bluntly here; but please bear with me, as I think you'll get a kick out of what I have to say in the end....
You look very healthy & happy in this photo -- which helps me get over my own personal heartbreak at seeing your once-upon-a-time beautiful long mane so damn short now! (LOL -- or, maybe I should say instead, "semi-LOL")
I learned a long time ago to get over the loss of seeing someone ELSE cut their long hair short; but then again, every once in awhile I have had that life-lesson tested and re-tested over and over again, to help me emotionally "let go" of becoming too attached to somebody else's beautiful hair...
So glad to hear you're having a great time traveling. As for me, however, if I had the same opportunity, I would have wanted to take along a warm & furry "friend" -- my HAIR!!!
But hey, that's part of the fun of getting to know others on this website, to see how we are in many ways the same; yet still very very different in other ways.
Thanks so much for posting this thread, Vincent -- always a pleasure hearing from you!!

Hi Ken,
I can handle everything and I value honesty, everybody is different so just day whatever you have to say. We can learn a lot form each other because we are different.
It's good to hear that I look healthy and happy because that are the two most important things in life! I value my health a lot and do everything in my power to live healthy, glad that's noticeable.
I know people here won't like seeing me with short hair, but that's the way my hair is right now and I don't want to hide it. I still like going to the board but I have to share the way my hiar is right now.
But it's good to hear people miss it, when I cut it short there were only two people who didn't compliment on my new hairstyle they liked the longhair better and I thanked them for that opinion!
Traveling is awesome and I will do a lot more of it in the future. When I will visit the USA I will make sure I come with a head full of hair! Would love to meet up in the future with all the amazing people over here.

Hi Vincent
sounds like you have had an amazing experience with more to come too!
Re: your hair....you look incredibly healthy and happy in your pic, and your hair looks good.....however In my humble opinion you have the type of hair/face that just looks better and better as your hair gets longer...you are a natural longhair and I can't wait to see your progress over the coming months.
Cheers for sharing Vincent!

Hi Scott,
Yes it's an amazing experience to travel alone to the other side of the world. You can do everything that you want to do and meet a lot of amazing people.
It's good to hear that I look healthy and happy because that are the two most important things in life! I value my health a lot and do everything in my power to live healthy, glad that's noticeable.
Although people probably don't like to hear it, I do like a buzzed looked but other than that long is my preferred style the longer the better :)
I'm looking forward to growing my hair back as well, it's very cool to see your hair changing (and looking better) everyday!
Vincent
Hey Vincent, nice to hear from you again after a long absence.I have to say you sure do look much different with that hair style as if i were to walk right past you in real life I wouldn't even recognize you.I feel that I remember people better by their longhair as short hair is so common.Sorry to say that but your look does just blend in with the crowd for me.Still, I respect your decision to cut it for this trip. With all the things you've done special care would have needed to be done to protect a longer mane. Also I'm a bit surprised you did the trip solo as I would rather have a companion on such a journey. It's fun to share the adventures with a friend:)But I hear ya on being able to do what you want when you want since on your own.Anyway thanks for checking in and hope to see you back more.Cheers my friend.

Hi Mark,
Yes, it's a big change and I understand you would walk straight past me. I agree people with short hair all look the same.
I would have loved to travel with a friend, but good luck finding someone who can travel for so long. But I traveled together with a lot of amazing people and made new friend for life!
I will try to pop in every once in a while!

The time I spent traveling when I was younger and had fewer responsibilities is always time that I will treasure. It's so enjoyable to see more of the world and an education at the same time.
As I mentioned before, I loved my long hair when traveling. I went to Bonaire on a scuba diving trip for 8 days and didn't find it to be a problem so long as I carefully detangled every day and oiled it regularly.
It's great to hear you're having such a good time. I've enjoyed the photos you've posted on facebook of some very interesting places.
I'll join the chorus hoping you regrow your hair!
Hi Jason,
Jup traveling is amazing and when you're young is the perfect time, although I will try to keep on traveling when I will be older.
I would love to go to bonaire to dive there, and next time I will be traveling I will have long hair. I hate detangling my hair and doing it a lot I wouldn't have enjoyed that, but I agree it is possible. Plus we were only allowed to shower for a few minutes on the boat that is not enough time to take care of my hair.
Glad to hear you enjoyed the photo's on facebook, I never used it much at home but while traveling is a perfect tool to keep in touch with everyone.
I will probably regrow my hair and it will keep me warm in Scandinavia so that a nice plus :)

Hi Vincent,
It is great to hear from you, and thank you for stopping on by to let us know how you have been doing. I am delighted that you had such an awesome time on your travels.
Of course I am saddened that you felt the need to cut, since you always had a mane to be proud of, with good thickness and a fast growth rate. However, you are off to a great new start, and I hope you continue your long hair growing journey.
Take care,
David
Hi David,
Yup I really enjoy my travels,
I can understand your saddened, but it will grow back :)
