well, 51 years old, been growing for a little over 10 years...i think...i kinda lost track of when i last cut my hair but it was in july either 10 or 11 years ago.i am sure the picyure quality wont satisfy all who observe but its what i got on this gateway laptop..i made adjustments to the properties but there isnt anything 'sinister' going on here..i truly dont have the technological talent to do that!hope all have a great weekend and happy April fools day.
Hi Gordy,
If you mean it's your birthday, well then... Happy Birthday :) Thanks for another fantastic update. Your hair is outstanding, and I have no complaints concerning the quality of the images you share here. They are lightyears ahead of many of the "fuzzy reflection in the bathroom mirror taken with a phone camera" we see, but hey, even those I appreciate! Ya use whatcha got, right? Bottom line is that you share the hair to inspire others.
Cheers,
Val
Thank you Val!!!!i have meant no controversy by the posting of my photos on here..its just the way they are..i suppose if i presented them as 'artistic' they would be respected more as others have done, but since no 'art' is being used it leaves itself open for my intent of my presentation of myself (if that makes sense). And, yes, my intent is to share pics of my hair as i feel it looks pretty good for my age and should be shared in this great forum and environment. My birthday was last weekend and thanks also for the kind wishes.
Happy Birthday Gordy! Your hair is looking fabulous as usual! I hope that I have the dedication you have for growing hair. You inspire me to take good care of my hair. Keep the pictures posting! At least you are posting pictures compared to some of us, and don't worry about the quality, it is the sincere effort and uploading that really counts. I wish you a happy day, and celebrate your hair.
cheers,
rowie
Thank you Rowie....thats the idea here to have positive conversations about hair and growth and ever increasing length and volume...my feeling has always been if you were meant to be a longhair...you WILL be a longhair...if its something one wants to do 'just for a change'..then you will change again..its part of our makeup in our brains...genetically, if you will.i had short hair for 40 years because i HAD to..whether it be parents as a kid,or the policiesof work..it was necessary..but it didnt change who i was or wanted to be in my brain. i guess the problem we face societally is that a haircut is an easy way to change someone into what you think you want someone to be on the surface..but it doesnt change what is on the inside in the brain and genes.
Very well said, Gordy, I fully agree with your reply to Rowie, above -- and, as far as your photo goes, your hair is lookin' as EXCELLENT as ever!!!!!
I was away from the board for most of last week, so saw your previous post (that is now waaay down the page) on the late side; but at least I did a quick reply with no text (other than a brief compliment)... In any case, here's my opportunity to say a bit more!
You have a very nice way with words, and I find it interesting that your hair history is very similar to my own. My brothers & I were not allowed anything other than military-style short haircuts all during my childhood and teen years; but even after leaving home at age 18, the jobs I had only allowed "long-ISH" hair -- so it wasn't until my 40th birthday in the summer of '93 that I experience ponytail-length for the first time in my life... And yet, growing it long had been on my mind for as far back as I can remember.
Other than my foolish decision in Y2k to impulsively cut it back to short, I fully realize now that I was born a longhair, -- including need to REMAIN a longhair -- and this is unquestionably my commitment to myself for life.
My hair now being at belt-length (probably at terminal length now, because I keep trying to get it to butt-length, but it grows at a snail's pace nowadays), I'm happier and more at peace about it than I've ever been.
Anyway, thank you so much for your update! You have an amazing head of hair, I've been a big fan of yours for years, and am so happy to see you coming back to MLHH to share here again!!

Thanks Ken...you are always positive and one of the kindest men i have ever come to know through chatting across the computer...you can truly understand the man you are through your words..and yes, isnt it interesting who we have become when given the opportunity to self-actualize what our brain has always wanted us to be!!You too have been able to see and enjoy the mane you were meant to have and share with others..thanks to you for that and your 'amber waves of mane' are an inspiration to us all...lets walk on each others hair someday!
Hi again Gordy,
I responded with a more long-winded reply in my follow-up to your comments to Rowie, below; but just for fun, thought I'd reply again and include this pic of me taken just 2 months ago, during the same hair photo session as when my new avatar pic was taken, at SF's Ocean Beach...
Gotta stop goofing off and go to work now (LOL)!!
Later,

Well happy 51st Gordy and congrats on the 10 years+ of growth:)In spite of the quirky graphics from your laptop I can still see the awesome length which is commendable.I'm not far behind you in the age department but can honestly say I'm proud to have kept longhair uninterrupted on my head since my early 20s:)I grew it long then and never looked back!Cheers
