Hi guys,
Been a little while since I've posted so I thought I'd give y'all an update.
Though I've been growing since the big buzz new year's 2011, this is about 11 months worth of growth since I trimmed a couple inches summer of last year (for stupid reasons I won't go into lol).
The restoration efforts continue and now I'm throwing every piece of junk I can get my hands on at my hair. I have a lot of new terminal hairs growing on my temples and parts of the hairline, places they've never been before even as a kid/teen. The crown is holding up but I'd still like to see some improvement there, but no real way to check for small new hairs since I can't look at the back of my own head!
But in addition to the rest of my regimen I'm now using 1% Niz every day and have recently starting using minoxidil foam on the crown and frontal hairline area 2 additional times per day, which makes it a total of 4 applications per day for those spots (2 for the rest of my head). People have reported a huge difference in new growth when doing 4 times per day so we'll see what happens!
At any rate here are a couple pics:
Looking forward to your feedback and I'll keep you guys posted on what happens with the additions to my regimen!
Great progress and special congrats on your successful efforts at hair restoration!
Thanks Jason!
This is my regimen at the moment... any suggestions about something else I could add?
- Nizoral 1% shampoo every day
- Finasteride 1.25mg per day
- Minoxidil 5% 2 times per day entire head, 4 times per day crown & hairline
- MN 2% (sometimes 4%) about every other day for hairline and crown
- Orange Triad vitamin stack
- Fish Oil
- 5,000 mcg Biotin
- MSM
- Cayenne pepper
- Saw Palmetto extract
- Nettle Root extract
- Bragg's ACV mixed with water (drink)
- BCAA's (for bodybuilding but supposed to promote hair growth too)
I have also been on Finasteride for two years. For me, this has stopped and even reversed MPB. My long scalp hair is now thicker and softer, and sheds normally in small amounts.
I would add the following to counter potential side effects of having to take this drug since my father and his father had no scalp hair. (1) Use a heavy weight lifting regimen on a daily basis, minimum 10 hours per week, emphasizing bench press and pectoral curls. This is needed to counter potential fat build up in the pectoral muscle area from the drug. (2) Maintain no more than 5% body fat. The drug may redeposit fat to the breast and hip areas (gynercomastia). Minimizing fat prevents the drug from moving anything. (3) Maintain a very heart healthy diet to make sure the circulatory system stays clean. Thus is needed to counteract development of impotence and ED. (4) Be willing to adjust the dosage. If you get tired often, too lethargic, then slack off on the dose for some. Let the body get used to it. Take it every other day of every three days. But dont stop it. The body has adjusted to lower, or few amounts of DHT (dihydrotestosterone) converted from testosterone. And (5), have a hair restoration surgeon look at the scalp to see if the hairs are normally thick, not bent over and broken, or too many of them being small. The doctor may then adjust the dosage. They work with bald men all the time because there are so many of them. Up to 75% of the male population has significant baldness at age 65. Hair surgery is not recommended for younger men, but a drug reducing the amount of DHT is

Thanks Don. I'm a bodybuilder and am currently cutting for summer. I've got my diet, routine, and supplementation down to a 'T' and am seeing great and consistent results, but thanks for your suggestions!
By the way, 5% is an extremely low bodyfat percentage, just a touch higher than IFBB professionals cut down to for competition... it would be almost impossible to stay that low for any length of time and remain healthy. ;) 10% or so is considered a healthy and fit percentage for the average joe... my personal goal for this summer is to see if I can break into the single digits.
Here's a side-by-side comparison of my old hair in October 2010 (1 month before buzzing it off) compared to my hair as of today:
I know u guys say that it wasn't that bad before, and I know i'm still not completely happy with where it's at yet recovery-wise, but I'm always amazed when I compare the old with the new!
I can't WAIT until it gets down to my shoulders and beyond... my tail was so thin before, hopefully now it will be nice and thick when the time comes!
Impressive progress indeed !!
Looks like all your hard work is really paying off..
Thanks for Sharing...that is what this site is all about.
Congratulations and Well Done

Hair looks good and full to the ends. I can see you growing it way longer if you wish. :) Good update!
Thanks Mark! Can't wait until it starts getting closer to your length!
Hi Paladin. A very impressive update. The routine you are following is obviously paying dividends and you should see some impressive growth over the coming months. Congratulations.
Thanks Ian!! Can't wait to see it longer.
Hi Paladin,
