I used to be unhappy with the shortness of my hair, but it's finally become long enough that I'm satisfied with it. However, I intend to continue letting it grow as long as it can get.
It looks good. The ends are really healthy.

Hi Sören, You should be very happy with your progress so far, you hair is looking amazing, just let it grow and grow!
Your mane looks much better than those I've seen on many women!
what's your secret?
what supplements are you taking?
I desire hair that looks as healthy and shiny as this!!
how long did it take to grow and what was the length you had prior to growing it?
Thank you for the compliment. I'll try to answer all parts of your question.
Supplements: I take vitamin D (full daily dose) and calcium (half daily dose) supplements every morning with breakfast. I don't take these to help my hair, however. I need these supplements to prevent dangerous deficiencies; my skin is so sun-sensitive that I can't get adequate vitamin D from sun exposure, and I avoid eating dairy products, so I don't always consume enough calcium. I experimented with hair growth boosting supplements for a few months, but I found they actually made my hair thinner, so I stopped taking them.
My "secret": I attribute the shine of my hair to Pantene's "Ice Shine" shampoo. I use a very small amount on just the top of the scalp and wash it out quickly. The strength of my hair is due to Paul Mitchell's "The Detangler" conditioner. I use very large amounts (several handfuls) on my entire head and - this is the most important part - I leave it on my hair for 15 minutes before I wash it out. If you don't leave it on your hair and let it soak in, it won't do any good. This takes patience but it's worth it. I recommend running a bath to sit in while you wait so you don't get cold. Another secret is I always sleep on a pillow with a satin case. This is much gentler on the hair than any other fabric.
Hair growing history: I had waist-length hair for most of my life, then in December 2010 I cut it to a shag just below the ears (the longest style commonly considered "mainstream" for guys). Since then I've been letting it grow out again except for the fringe, which I keep at eyebrow level.
Your hair is "Gorgeous"!I bet even when it was shorter it turned heads and longer than it is now even more so:)Have to say wish my hair looked that nice.Oh well I'll be happy with what I have.Cheers my friend.
